Was it a user called . and the thread and user was deleted then he came back under another name?Oh wasnt it . or something like that?
That's the one, he doesn't seem to say what seam sealer he's using though
NO PICTURES!, saving the copies of the sun so I can bang one out later after the day I've had...
Thanks!Oh wow! Looks great!
I might give that a go on some of the outer stuff, in the bay it's a bit dry in places with the odd run so it's going to need a bit of a flat off, I'm mega amateur with this painty stuff so the bay is good practiceI'm just an amateur, but I always put the lacquer on as soon as the base is touch dry, but not set. That ensures a chemical bond and reduces the chance of lacquer peel later. I've never had a problem and never had peeling, even on my thoroughly neglected silver GSi bits that I painted 15 years ago and other bits 10 years ago.
Possibly worth a try, saves time too.
Chris y is right about overcoat times, have you checked TDS. If you flat metallic you’ll probably have to be careful or you’ll see all the scratches when you put the lacquer on.I might give that a go on some of the outer stuff, in the bay it's a bit dry in places with the odd run so it's going to need a bit of a flat off, I'm mega amateur with this painty stuff so the bay is good practice![]()
Pretty sure the TDS said 1000_1200 wet sand or 1500 dry so we'll see how it goesChris y is right about overcoat times, have you checked TDS. If you flat metallic you’ll probably have to be careful or you’ll see all the scratches when you put the lacquer on.
