Can anyone make internal splines?

I'm a bit of a bodger....so this is definitely a bodge.

Stick a steel sleeve round the spline (with a bit of a gap) and fill the gap with low temp ali brazing rod...then work your handle off the steel outer sleeve. Would also work with epoxy I should think too.

But as I said...I'm a bodger...it can be improved upon with a keyway etc but still a bodge.

Well I notched the inside of my gear, it didn't go too well. The tool steel cutter (modified lathe tool I had lying around) was too soft to cut the steel bolt head I used for a blank and went blunt. So I resharpened it, and hardened it. When I cut the gear I finished it and removed it. But found the cutter had broken on the bottom - so rubbing on the way up. And of course I ommitted the tempering step...
I think I know one of the reasons for this - I hadn't been tightening the clamp on the dividing head on each slot, so there was some movement in the workpiece - lesson learnt. Also a dividing head may not be ideal for this.
So I still need a new cutter or two..
Oh, I hand fettled the gear, its now in the notcher and working like a goodun.
