You can buy NVR switches with emergency stop on ebay, for safety reasons they're a good idea.

As for the chrome handles, strip off the rest of the chrome & rust and paint them in silver hammerite. I did that when I restored my meddings drill & they are lasting well. The silver will look nice with the black you are using on the drill body.

Re the vice I picked my two up at car boot sales, one was £3 the other a record with V grooves was only £1, so do they have Car boot sales in Spain?
Whilst you may not find one cheap you really need one for accurate stuff but a pair of mole grips and a few bits of wood will often do as thats how I managed for years until I bought the vices.

Did a bit more this afternoon.

Thanks to Perry Owens i was able to strip the drill down a bit more.

I may leave the top bearing where it is as it seems ok.

Unless you guys think i should switch them out anyway.

Don't think there is much i can do about the play i showed in an earlier video.

Maybe the 2 splines inside the top tube (sorry no idea what its called) are worn see image below.

Also gave the table another coat of paint and painted the motor.

Sensible to wait for a good quality '2nd-user' one to come along - I made the mistake of getting one like this and it's about as much use as a slack tooth.

Great will have a scan on ebay. Most of the Nippy vices look like swiss cheese or are prices like a swiss watch.

Not finding many drill vice on ebay, is there anything new worth buying?

Nipped down to the garage for an hour today and finished the motor.

On to the body now i'm thinking about filling the holes in the side and mounting the NVR on the motor mount.

Mines an old record vice bought it from a boot sale also for the price of a bag of cola cubes.
Not a big one (100mm Max opening) I'll photo it Tomoz. Very nice and tight with good marry up of the jaws. My only real issue with it was there was no recess on the jaw edges to drop thin plate on to for level drilling.
Sorted it out though on my friends Bridgeport.
It's as good as any nippy IMO.

Roebuck is the brand name used by Buck & Hickman. They're an equipment reseller, who've been around, (owned by several different companies within the last couple of decades or so though), longer than most. Usually good quality stuff, whomever manufactured it.

A bit of patience will get you a decent or good second hand one, if you're not in a hurry for one. The prices of drill vices goes through fits and starts, as with most other things. A fairly small one, but these are a decent, basic drill vice.
