I took the switch apart and gave it a clean, its working now. Any reason why i shouldn't use the original switch?

I'm from Wales, usually I cant stop spending money but the shipping on this really blew my budget.

Did a bit more painting today must resist stripping it off and starting again. Did not get on too well with the Spanish paint it dries too quick.

I used Rust-Oleum on the motor and it was great.

Learnt a few things if it not broke don't fix it.

Cleaned up most things struggled with the lever will have another go at it another day.

The chuck was stiff and gets really stiff in one point. Took it apart gave it a clean its much smoother now but still gets a little stiff at one point.

The bearings are out one was a little stiff totally foobared after i smashed it out.

The bar the lever slides into (you can see it next to the circlip) Was this originally painted or polished?

I bought a grease gun it should be ok for top nipple but the end is too large for the lower one, what are my options?

I was hoping to have this finished today. But as usual i make an easy job difficult.

I decided to replace the bearings.

I read in a post elsewhere that the correct bearings were

SKF 7202BEP Single Row Angular Contact Ball Bearing 15x35x11mm (7202BEP-SKF)

KLNJ7/8 Imperial Open Deep Groove Ball Bearing 7/8x1-7/8x3/8 inch (KLNJ.7/8.R14.EU)

The KLNJ7/8 are perfect but the SKF 7202BEP are not although they are the correct size they have slop. I took the lower bearings out and put the old ones back in. If anyone knows the correct lower bearings please let me know.

Also if anyone has use for two SKF 7202BEP drop me a pm.

Nearly there fitted a new belt just need to wire her up now.

Thanks guys hopefully will have it finished tomorrow. I've enjoyed it, just need to find a locking handle now.

And a drill press vice to hind the swiss cheese table.

I still need to secure the switch handle there is no grub screw and i think there should be a little piece of metal for the grub screw to go through.

I checked the run out on the top of a drill bit. 0.04mm is this acceptable?

The lid does not seem to sit properly at the front.

small drills fast ish speed and slow speed for larger drills. a spot of cutting compound if drilling steel cuts a lot faster and your drill bits last a lot longer fill the holes on your table with jb weld it will make it look a bit nicer and less noticeable

I've looked at ROCOL RTD Cleancut 350g Metal Cutting Fluid but its not cheap.

shop around. probably other makes that are more reasonably priced

What about a little block of beeswax?
