New seat base looks good as soon as I saw it I thought of WW2 pilots seat!
Gary do you not think it odd that people look here and think they found something dodgy, comment on it and when you give them a honest reply you never hear from them again !!! How strange
That seat frame looks rather tasty. As a suggestion it would look quite cool with hidden LED lights that just glow through the holes, not sure if that's your thing or in keeping with thecstyle of vehicle your making
Steve i was always led to believe that re-cutting or re grooving was only allowed on commercials over a certain weight
i used to re-cut land rover tyres a long time ago when funds was very short also worked in the tyre trade for a good while
here's a link you can all make up your minds as to what is an isn't or what ever still love the truck

Hell langy, even your battery box is a work of art!
Absolutely love how it's like a smaller version of the seat, ties in beautifully.

First thing that caught my eye if I'm honest. That and "Is that battery not going to leak?" lol.I was wondering if anybody would notice most people miss it !!!
Next I made up a battery box in sheet aluminium and added a bit of details to the ends, the extra layer is welded along the edges.

That sort of detail is what seperates a good job from a great one IMHO.
Cool technology, times have certainly moved on a bitGel battery mate, the SAS use them on their vehicles because it will still perform even with a bullet hole in it !!!
I use gel batteries in noise monitoring kit for work, they are great as you can leave em almost anywhereGel battery mate, the SAS use them on their vehicles because it will still perform even with a bullet hole in it !!!

What are they like weight-wise, pretty similar?
Pure class, such attention to detail, even to the stuff that isn't readily visible
Ahh very clever. I'm normally into bikes not cars so it's all new to me. Wasn't picking holes in anything you've done as it's all metal poetry in my eye's. I've been following this build for a while now , I check most days to see if there's an update I just dont feel I need to post replies all the time. I just like the pictures of what you're doing. They are only smooth on the outside
Forgot that ! I've never owned a car older than about 1984 (Capri)!Pre60 cars don't have mots
Four hundred quid? Ouch!About the same I would say, I've used them for years and although they are quite pricy at £140 they last 10 years or more and give superb cranking.
Off topic but my son in law has a new Audi with a ceramic battery I think and it's £400 to replace !!!
