I helped fix my son's girlfriends car washer bottle pump that got broken when she hit a deer. Chopped a bolt up and bored a small hole through it, the boy had a go on the lathe as well.
It still dribbles a bit so he's ordered a new one but it'll get her through a few days driving to uni.

A couple of rakes from the stables repaired, yellow one had snapped off and the green one had stripped the plastic threads, both now secured with a self-tapper.

Cheap chinesium bolts that jammed in the nuts replaced with decent S/S nuts & bolts, I suspect I will be fixing it up somewhere next time I'm at the stables.

bill wasn't exactly small, 15+hours of work total and a few hundred quid of parts, but the customer is chuffed
I managed to get the £140 cobra li ion battery for the dastardly letric mower charging - just stuck my 60v power supply on it for a few minutes. Pulled the smaller one that came with it off the shelf and linked the o/c cell out, now that charges as well. This time I took a pic of the cells so I can buy a new one. Getting one over on flawed technology - satisfying!
Pah! Looks like I underestimated the intelligence of the smaller battery - it charged so far and then gave up. I surmise it charges in stages, that way ensuring no cells get less or more charge. The failed cell is about half way along the series chain. So I could sub in the one on the end, but probably I'll wait for the replacement from cpc.

Multistrada 1200 major service (timing belts and valves shimming etc).
It was genuinely comical how many fasteners they manged to use on each panel, no chance of any falling off.
I've gone for Exact Fit timing belts for this job and they look very nicely made indeed, will be using these in the future (always give the option of genuine Ducati/Gates).
Did a 696 Monster last week using Dayco belts and they were a swine to fit they are significantly thicker than the Ducati Gates or these Exact Fit belts.
It has an "Exup" fault on dashboard, found this little gem under the side panel so I'm presuming that has something to do with it (last pic).

Had to cut nuts off front cylinder studs, seized solid and snapping a stud off would be a disaster. No chance of removing O2 sensor so worked around the front downpipe.
Adjusted all opening shims, gave them option with closing shims (all closing clearances were at 0.15mm or tighter) and left them as is.
Runs fine and good for another 5 years / 15,000 miles on the belts.

i improved my compressor dramatically today.
a year or so ago the 3000rpm 3hp motor went pop. a kind member on here donated me another 3hp motor to get me going again, but it is a 1500rpm motor, which obviously significantly degraded the performance. as it needed a new pulley anyway, i bought a bigger pulley, but only 30% bigger (the biggest i could get) so whilst good enough day to day it was still degraded performance compared to the original. i put another donated 3hp 3000rpm motor on, but unsurprisingly with the bigger pulley it didnt like it.
i looked at the motor and pump specs for the 4hp version on abac's website, and all they do, ironically is fit a 4hp motor and a bigger pulley, the pump is the same. so i did that. it now has a 4hp motor on it with the bigger pulley, so i have a nice upgrade

I believe it's an exhaust servo delete module, simulates the original (removed) servo to prevent the Check Engine Light.
Ducatis are built to look nice and go fast, not much though is put into the ease of service side of things but I suppose all modern motorcycles are going down the same route unfortunately.
The 696 is panels off and fuel tank removal (not a 5 minute job!) to access the battery. I bet there were a fair few swear words at original PDI time at the dealers. Some MV's are the same, must be an Italian thing!.
I see an unusually large amount of KTM's in for Module failures and electrical faults so I suppose the Ducati is better in that respect.
