Standard style nowadays,designers,my pet hate.
It's normal for a company to by bulk from a manufacturer and request the part/s be put in a protective bag and labeled up with the purchasing companies own stock number that has already been allocate stock /storage space and referencing on the purchasers on computer system .

Ive got the same shrinker mounted on a stand but it seems to work ok for me. Always good to improve something, but youve traded a massive amount of throat depth doing so there.Strengthened my shrinker stretcher had so much flex is wasn't really doing anything, used two strips of 5mm flat bar which were drilled first and used as a jig to drill and tap the frame for m6 bolts to attach them.
I have been thrashing on getting my machining centre up and running still. Its been so long putting in foundations and finishing the building I'd lost enthusiasm and just used my little bridgeport interact cnc instead but now the end is in sight...
After much work on upgrading 3 phase and putting in switching etc to cope with a 30KVA machine, I got greeted with the following. I see paying huge amounts for a new cnc didnt buy you good spelling, even 25 years ago.
Continue-ing on, It booted once, with errors around the machine parameters not being in memory because the backup batteries were flat (replaced, it takes 3 normal AA batteries in a tube inside the control!). I was quite excited at this point to see it move but it wont come out of e-stop until the air pressure at the dropsa lubrication system is above 5 bar, and there's a initial dry start up proceedure on the dropsa lubrication controller itself that involves air being present for 12 hrs beforehand because it powers the lubrication system & it was well into the early hours to be running the compressor. And dog tired, I just threw the breakers and decided to resume when I was fresher and wouldnt rush something.
I rebooted it this morning and now instead of the press end to continue at first boot it wont start now with a disk error. So I almost fixed it, then it broke again.
I hope I just shut it down wrong as I believe it uses NTFS partitions on the drive which get marked dirty if this happens. I want to take a backup anyway as acramatic made the control computer, and they got bought by siemens and siemens deleted all the machine drive images that used to be available, plus the machine parameters are stored on partition 3 and I really hope theyre still readable as this machine went for calibration and certification as it used to belong to and be used to make parts for the radio observatory of the Cote d'Azur and all those parameters were adjusted precisely. The acramatic comptuer is that big gold box at the bottom left inside the rear of the machine. The machine panel is separate made by heidenhain and on the front.
I pulled the hard drive and its just a regular 2.1Gb seagate ide, great, nothing too weird I thought, I've got some suitable replacements in the junk shed. Then it dawned on me, I havent got a computer that works that has ide on it that doesnt require messing round with finding the right matching psu etc before it can be used. Floppy's and scsi etc sure, sata, tons of it but ide's in that weird only just too old point to not have needed it yet
So now chomping at the bit waiting for a ide->sata adapter to arrive so I can dump it with ddrescue under linux. At least its not a weird japanese only PC9801 like my Sodick wire edm has.

I'm almost done refurbishing my 2001 New Holland GT18. I rebuilt the carburetor a day or two ago, and today I added fresh fuel, changed all of the oil and filters, and took it for a longer test drive. The fresh fuel eliminated a slight lag from a sudden wide-open throttle, and it's now running great.
I slipped an old seat cover over the original seat, which is still in pretty good shape, with only a couple of small hairline cracks that don't go all the way through. I may try some vinyl conditioner on it to see if it softens up a bit.
There are still a few tweaks left to do on it:

- I need to make the final adjustments to the brake and motion-control linkages.
- The battery light is always on (it's charging fine) so I need to address that, either with a different battery light module or going to a voltmeter instead of a warning light.
- There's a wobble in the left front wheel, which I plan to replace with a good used rim that I got from a tractor forum member.
- I haven't decided about decals yet. It's a GT18, but I believe I've bumped up the 18HP Kohler CH18 to 20HP by removing the high-speed throttle stop screw and readjusting the governor (the CH18 and CH20 appear to be the same engine except for the throttle stop screw), so I don't know if I want a GT18 decal or not. Maybe I'll just skip the decals.

I've finally sorted my wire guide upgrade on my 1984 Fanuc Tapecut Model L wire EDM machine. Standard guides are basically a hole in an industrial diamond, but as the wire is 0.25 mm diameter and the guide hole is only 0.255 mm poking it upwards blind has been a real pain and definitely reduced the usefulness of the machine to me. I managed to source some ruby Vee guides from a scrap machine many years ago and first started trying to fit them five years ago. I needed to make totally different mounting arrangement and my solution was to 3D print the replacement mounts in 99% fill PET-g filament.
Today saw it back together and actually working. To celebrate I gave it a bit of spit and polish.

That's why I like to take pictures of my projects...so I can remember what they used to look like before they went back to work.
That said, if I ever finish my M37 restoration project, it will probably remain a fair-weather, Sunday-drive vehicle, because I wouldn't want to take it off road and get it all muddy and scratched up, even though it was designed to get muddy and scratched up.

Put some mudmats down at the field gate, lets see how they hold up to half a ton of horse, the last ones disappeared without trace.

The stable is rented and it took long enough to persuade the owner getting scalpings down under the rubber mats, he won't allow any more "civils"
Nice, I dont have a awt (automatic wire threader) on my sodick either but on that you thread from the top where its fairly easy to see if fiddly when using the finest wires.
I assume thats a dry tank machine from the perspex wire table enclosure?
Also do you have the wire feeder cover door thats not fitted in the pic? I have similar and find it reduces the dust on the wire mechanism and makes it smoother, plus if you get a tangle somehow it constrains it a bit before you get attacked by the end. Its only a bit of perspex that fits on those hinge pins I think.
I have some long stalled rotary axis project made from stainless castings for the tank to make it capable of turn then burn, but the only way to integrate that to a control of that vintage is to put a button in the tank and put in a machine move in the gcode so the wire head presses it to move the rotary to the next position which if you want to use it as a edm lathe for some feature is extremely painfull... I'd like to linuxcnc it one day and get away from the original control's weirdness but the path control is a bit different to more normal cnc machines, especially in fine polish cut mode. It senses the current in the wire in realtime and moves the tool backward and forward minutely on the path to keep the current constant to maintain the tiny gap, and that needs to be done in hardware and have almost zero latency...
Your attention to detail is astounding!

No what you see is what I have.
I did at one time consider a re-make reversing the wire direction to make threading more visible but it was quite complicated. My machine orriginally did have an automatic threader but the previous owner removed it early in it's life as it was so unreliable.
Most of the outer metal panels and the horizontals round the tank were missing when I acquired the machine and I have made replicas, but that was some time ago now.
Cool, nice job. Just remembered a helpful tip someone gave me, to cut the wire prior to threading heat it with a lighter and pull it gently when it heats up so it draws out tapers at the heated bit for easier threading then snaps at the thinnest section, voila pointy 0.2mm wire.
