Sharpies were launched in 1964. Boy, that's some thread drift. Alas. I no nothing about dashcams. But do need to invest in one myself. So Thanks to the OP for starting the thread. And Welcome.

I'm also thinking of getting a dash came for my van. I had a Nextbase one a few years ago and to be honest it was a bit rubbish. On the day I had a crash it only recorded the bits before and after, it was only the cheapest entry level one but it should have worked still.

You have all the skills needed to be a useful member of the site.
I mean, how many of us welders can put on makeup whilst using a mirror and look beautiful?

Most of us are so gnarly & ugly we crack armoured dashcam lenses.

PS I too welcome your post asking about dash cams , for we too are thinking of getting two , once we know a lot more about them .......such as ease of fitting etc. or not.

I tried to apply make up one day but found when I finished I couldn't see through the screen. Strangely I managed some of the best welds ever.

How did you guess my "welding" looks like cable stich with the occasional Drop one.

I 'm led to believe the gals used Camp coffee or home made caramelised sugar to the same colour diluted in hot water , left to evaporate for a fortnight, then apply it with a fine pig's hair brush.

But I have managed to acquire 9 lathes, 4 surface grinders, 4 milling machines and a cylindrical grinder amongst others!

just a note on Dash cams
Winchgirl was passing a building site and suffered a broken windscreen clearly shown on the dash cam she successfully claimed off the site due to the state of the stones and rubbish coming out of it all over the road so they are well worth having.

When someone wrote my 306 off in a crash i made sure to point out i have a dashcam and they admitted 100% fault. If I didn't they could have tried it on I reckon. So even just having one there without submitting footage helped me out.

I have footage of me driving through a car park barrier somewhere if anyone wants a laugh

I use the Vantrue dashcam and rate its quality and form factor
