Could have done with a decent one today .. at The Garlic Roundabout in the Breckon's I'm on the roundabout , indicated to leave when boy racer to my left zips past stopped cars and goes like a bat out of hell past my front a mere 8 feet away .. Yes I did hit the brakes and the car behind me was a gnats hair off my back bumper.

I saw a carbon black Ferrari the other day on the M20 with a "matching" what I guess was black carbon fibre bike on top. Positioned dead centre of the roof on some sort of custom mount. Weirdest thing ever. If I think and it's still on the dash cam I'll upload a pic.
I looked at a bike rack stuck on with those big suckers like they use for lifting glass the other day (stuck to the roof of a corsa in the car park at work).
It didn't look very safe to me, trusting you bike to the sticking power of a sink plunger and the strength of the paint bond, but I guess it meets the required standard.

I had one for several years, a SeaSucker, and it was utterly reliable - never lost adherence to the roof once. Used it on the roof of my Mini Cooper to hold a mountain bike.
