That is the summer tinted safety glasses sorted then. 35 pairs.
30 pairs of the left type and 5 of the right, which also come with a pouch and cloth.
As safeties, the right type, have a better fit and wrap around, but both are good.

No doubt a strimmer will launch something that manages to get past them

So far, nope! I've been doing quite a bit just with the left style and they give good protection.
Thats with the Makita XGT strimmer which seems to maintain a higher speed than petrol and launches anything a lot further!

Felt like Christmas unwrapping this lot. Girlfriend needs something sparkly and I need tools so we compromised.

Saw, burrs, drills, gravers triblet, drawplate (With carbide inserts ), soldering bits, ring gauges and a bit of silver to play with.

They are not so effective however, when also wearing a chainsaw mesh visor and cutting connifer. Connifer burns! I'm yet to find any combination that will prevent saw dust in the eyes, it seems to float around until it gets you.

The tools are useless without a project though.

I've had a little play, took some copper down to about 0.3 x 4.5mm with my rolling mill, then folded it lengthways and drew it to a 1.5mm OD tube, then formed it round and tried to silver solder it.


Clearly my little butane torch isn't up to the job, well impressed with the drawplate though. Next acquisition will be an oxygen cylinder for my proper torch...

Can you let me know what its like when you've tried it?

I've been using a sanding pad on a multi tool to get into corners

Lots of varnish to strip off when we decorate

I have 7 panel doors to strip back to wood and the thought of doing the internals by hand was the reason in getting this. I already have a 5" RO rotating sander and mutlitool but the oscillation of this left sanding lines as it is basically a left right motion and any kind of pressure to get right into the corners makes it worse from my experience of doing the frames. The detail sander is basically a mini RO sander with a delta pad so you get tiny rotational (1.5mm) sanding so less likely to to leave marks.

I'll be using it this weekend first on skirting boards are flat to concave to rounded so should be a good test for it. Only down side is no dust extraction

id replace the doors rather than take back to wood if they been painted they wont look that great as the paint soaks in to the wood

Planning to use this for my fibreglass cutting...hopefully it works.

I'm doing so much cutting with the boat repairs...my scissors constantly need fettling so I needed a better way of doing things.

This evening I've got a tattoo right
In the middle of my back nearby the kidney.
It resembles a lathe chuck key.
I was turning stuff on the lathe and a colleague was using the lathe behind me.
While changing workpiece something drop on the lever and the lathe spun catapulting the key right on my back.
Feeling lucky enough but it hurts a lot.
Might have gone worst, like hitting either my spine, or my kidney, or right on the ribs or worst case scenario my head.
