The seller says it's out of warranty. It is a shame that the Seller of the R-Tech 180 defaulted on the sale. That would have been a good machine - if R-Tech could fix it under warranty.

Any of the three secondhand transformer-based welders that you mentioned in Post #51 would be fine for that. I think the best choice would be the Awelco Easycraft 150, if you can borrow it, test it, use it, and then buy it if it suits you.

I listed some reputable hobby-level inverter brands in Post #19 - BlackLine, StaticArc etc.
As for buying a s/hand inverter, the decision is pretty much the same as when buying a new one. They are complex boxes crammed full of unknown, possibly unreliable, and basically unfixable electronics, so it depends on your attitude to risk.

what are these called and where sold. Thanks.google them , cheap and cheerful German sounding Chinese welder ,,, service centre up north somewhere ,, 5 year warranty , and welds nice with change out of a couple of hundred quid. But starting into car body work has a fairly steep learning curve .
In Post #11 @tom2207 was referring to the "German" Rohr MIG-200MI inverter welder. Following the bankrupcy of the importer, they are no longer sold in the UK.what are these called and where sold. Thanks.
That price is without the cart and all items on it and on floor beside it incl esab masks, weldmate sip 100, car h/d jumps/proper bottle/reg.ext plug/socket,hammers,wire/rods,spray,and other items not in the offer now were incl when i "bought it"In Post #11 @tom2207 was referring to the "German" Rohr MIG-200MI inverter welder. In Post #19 I linked to an "as new" one that was being offered for £292 on eBay.
In Post #22 I suggested an offer of £220 would be fair.
Because I "watched" that item, yesterday I received an offer to buy it for £233. It has just now been sold, so probably someone took that same offer.
If you can message him ask if he still has cart and weldmate 100 was it and other items in his earlier listing last week [or what happened to all these items]In Post #11 @tom2207 was referring to the "German" Rohr MIG-200MI inverter welder. wouldnt buy a 100 , 180 is a far better power to have to hand , it will do chassis at 3mm providing your not trying to do 40 ft of it ,,,,If you can message him ask if he still has cart and weldmate 100 was it and other items in his earlier listing last week [or what happened to all these items]
gas isnt the cheapest ,,, but it gives best resultsIt seems the opinions are gas is best for weld quality and running cost, what do people pay for brewers "pub" gas and cylinder and refill cost.
is there a dealer beside you who will back up the warranty and demo a unit for you ,,,, if not are you willing to throw it away if it breaks .HAS ANYONE ANY KNOWLEDGE OF AN ITALIAN MARANELLO MIG 220 TMO456 [BLUE]
your mask probably cost more than the welder ,,, lol .I did a significant amount of welding with this, cost £260 iirc . Bought some quality gasless wire (Lincoln Innershield NR211).
If the welder did the car (which it did), then it had paid for itself.
Still going strong now.
Dread to think what a professional would have charged and right so due to the amount of labour involved so a £260 igbt welder and a £140 5kg spool of wire was a sound investment.

I was always told that you weren't a serious diver if your kit wasnt more expensive than your car ,,,,
Looking at the very limited info available online, the only Italian thing about this welder is the name!
It looks like any other generic imported 4-step transformer MIG. The lowest range is 40 Amps, which is too high for thin and rusty bodywork. According to the dataplate, it has a very optimistic "180A" upper rating.
Worth £100 new, £60 s/h, but not really worth bothering with.
have you actually read any of the replies , I would strongly advise you read the whole thread again and maybe make notes ,,, Im posting no more on this thread ,,,wolfweld 130 turbo gasless 20+ years old [like new with carry strap been in loft] with 20yr flux wire, opinions please also could this be converted to gas---I have some elect knowledge.
