Ah ok cheers , it the sort of site where if you need to ask a price you cant afford it ! I really could do with a 160mm back plate as I have a lovely 4 jaw that size, the one with the lathe is 200mm and its just too big sometimes

Please remind me what the spindle nose is. I think it is an A-taper. We could then look at the possibility of adapting a much more common D-taper backplate.

If you do know what it is, it is worth giving Rotagrip a call about sources for one. Worst they will say is they cannot help.

Its called ISO short taper with bayonet fitting or DIN 55027

the nose fitting dimensions are exactly the same as D1-4 camlock but the camlock studs are on a different PCD

Yeah thats the problem they are very pricey , I can buy a 160mm D1-4 for about £110 or less secondhand

I'll have to make the studs as the cheapest I can find are £40 a set plus shipping

Just to warm up this topic. Recently I was able to buy the "military" edition E3N-02 variant. Really happy with that, and also able to get the special flathead, with the internal gear!

Yes, it seemst to be barely used. I measured 0,02mm sag in the longitudal slide. The cross slide has rhe original scraping on the ends, while in the middle is faded a bit.
It has no taper attaxhment, nor the T slot on the back of the bed, to mantle it sadly. Beside of this, all the "normal" attachments seems to be compatible with it.
