Headlamp beam setter is the MOT type one on wheels. It's in my car in bits and lashing outside I'll get it out tomorrow. They are simple devices anyway so I think it is fine.



The Thermal Arc is dead.

The little GYS is Powering up. LED on and fan running. But won't strike an arc.

Simple first things to check? I guess cleaning all large terminals would be a start.



The board doesn't look like the magic smoke escaped. But I did see a fluffy adjuster

Price? That's just what i've been looking for, and probably cheaper than a trumpf one!!!

It is just a diode laser so only any good for cutting wood/paper etc so not sure if that is what you are after when you mention trumpf.
I bought it because I wanted to etch anodised aluminium instead of having to do it via the milling machine, also wanted it for etching text onto stainless panels and tests this evening show it works well.
It cost me £550 on the Prime deal, list is £699 but I usually see it hovering between £600 and £650.

I could certainly give it a go at engraving but would really need the labels supplied as I don't use that thin material, 1.5mm is the thinnest and it is not good finish.

Got given a moto g8 power lite that had been dropped, camera lens broke and the earpiece speaker not working, ordered new lens from ebay decided to bust it open to have a look, on reassembly the earpiece speaker now works, nice upgrade £3 quid spent.

I acquired a headphone amp/DAC, Fiio Q3:



Prime Day deal, it was £110, down from £140, but I think I'm going to return it. I've got Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro headphones, supposedly they need an amp to drive them, but I can hear absolutely no difference between the headphone port on my laptop and the amp, other than they'll go louder with the amp (But full volume on the laptop is too loud anyway). The way reviewers go on about how amazing headphone amps are, you'd think they inject crack into your ears or something. I've been swapping back and fourth between the amp and my laptop's headphone port as I typed this, I keep forgetting which one I'm using, they sound identical.

The main reason I wanted one is my phone doesn't have a headphone socket, it comes with a strap thing to stick it to the back of a phone, but it makes such a bulky lump (Made from grippy silicone that needs wrestling into a pocket) I don't want to carry it anywhere. Plus, my headphones are open backed so wearing them in public would be annoying for myself and anyone around me, I'm not really sure where I thought I was going to wear them other than my house (Where I'd just use my laptop...).




So ultimately a bit pointless. Lucky Amazon returns are so easy.

Picked these up - they seem to be old stock. I think the "new" versions has been out over ten years, so probably "very old" stock.
Edge of the cap is a little sharp and flimsy, and I can see why they changed the design on the new version - but overall not too bad, and a good price for a handle, bit holder and selection of decent bits.
Going to chuck a couple in my drill boxes so I can interchange them with my longer bit extensions if I need a handle.
No, they aren't all for me!
