Appologies for anyone offended by the title, I'm sure no one on here has one of these...
Lady next door, Essex las, and her offspring, seem to have a weird way of going about life. I won't list the things she's done that have potential consequences for our meighbourly relations, and I like to at least not argue with my neighbours.
But her daughters, or more accurately their partners must get their MOTs through the post.
No1, black VW Golf td. Totally blacked out windows, some reflective type film on the front, pink "I'm a bitch yada yada" stickers on the back, absolutely no silencing. It sounds like a tractor idling or on throttle, pops bangs and farts loudly on overrun. The mother has been using it whilst her (perfectly standard) car is in for repair - 5.30 every morning wake up call.
No2, BMW 3,series tdi - virtually identical to the Golf in all other respects.
Now, I'm not stupid, and know that souping up a turbo engine needs an open exhaust, but how in hell do they get an MOT cert? Also, the screen reflective thing' as well as the full blacked out windows - how?
Neither car should be on the road, you have to question their insurance cover too?

TD/TDI..? Diesels dont generally pop or bang, you just get clouds of black smoke from unburned fuel.

Yes, so why does this one (the Golf)? I presumed it was diesel since its defo a turbo, and the back is covered in black soot.

as goes for blacked out windows its a police matter if the front 3 are blacked out or darkened more than the original design

ive been pulled due to stupidness of coppers for original darkened windows yet stupid its pathetic in the uk

now i had blue tint to my headlights much better for fog and yet it failed an mot due to them being this way which i thought was pure dumb when there is proof they do work better and certaily dont have the glare compared to normal headlights

dont even get me started on the fumes from the vehicle from what it was originaly designed for

now whilst many may disagree i dont mind a dodgy one to a degree for getting past the enviromental mot test

just as much as a i will pass the vehicle if your willing to do the work asap ( which of coarse i do the work straight away)

but not one where the vehicle is unsafe ive seen some and want no part to them

they are here ,,, and the emissions test is still done too , although it seems to be all test or no test depending om what memo is out that month.

I often wonder how these cars get mot's, with the arches cut away and lowered so much the tyres still rub them. How they go around corners or over bumps do they change suspension or alter ride height just to have them tested?
Back end covered in black soot a coal miner would be proud of. I just don't get 'da scene'

They are, but it’s the judgment of the tester. If it’s significantly different to standard.

Roadside they use stuff to actually measure it. That’s one of the annoying discrepancies between MOT and Construction and Use

Better to fit a length of 15mm speedfit pipe to it so you're sure it reaches the cat/DPF filter.
