A few days ago, a New Zealand forist asked HERE for the identification of a vice.
Fortunately, I was able to help a little.
After looking a bit closer at the details of this particular model from the GDR, I wanted one too ...
... it arrived today - someone packed it very well, obviously with brains!
Not as nice as the New Zealand one and certainly not as old, but mine and here!

What is absolutely amazing is the permanent parallelism of the jaws over the entire travel range of the rear movable jaw, no rocking when cranking and no change when clamping, just always parallel.

The dovetail guides are really amazingly precise.
More details will certainly be discussed in the workbench vice thread.
