Some new monster castors arrived today. They are all the same height (188 mm total, with 150 mm wheels), which you'd expect but I was a little uncertain as the ebay listing said the unbraked ones were 13 cm tall and the braked ones were 18 cm tall.
Massive overkill in terms of weight for what I want, but I want to be able to manoeuvre the unit over some very rough ground and bigger wheels should make that easier. I still find it slightly amazing that you can buy four castors of this size for £35 including delivery.

I got a chance to look at the cabinet I got the last day.
Powered it up and it seems like all is working.
Lots of handy stuff.
Siemens PLC with expansion modules.
Pneumatic valves.
24v DC Power supply.
Looks to be opto isolators of some kind, will have to do a search later so see.

Those green pepperel and Fuchs modules are intrinsically safe barriers - they isolate a signal from a “safe” area going out to field devices (eg sensors etc) in an EX (explosive atmosphere) area.
Looks like a good haul, the Siemens plc is decent, but it doesn’t use the usual step 7 software, it’s called micro win (you used to be able to get a free version from Siemens but not sure if you still can).

keep it, a man of your calibre will always have need of a daft wee project to keep on the go, a plc is a great toy, has many options, could even just hae it switching the lights on and off in the garage to keep the thieving runts away from the honda....

LOL, I have a few spare Automation Direct PLCs here. Use one in the Chiron and another in the Lathe so always handy to have a spare or two. Would be more bother than it was worth to swap over to a Siemens and unless I can get the software very cheaply then I probably won't even be able to have a look/mess with it.

We sadly had to travel to Canterbury for my MIL funeral,she was a lifelong teacher/head teacher,so this cabinet stored her diaries and other memoirs,which my partner will sift thru then I get to keep the cabinet for tool and fixtures plus jigs.She would have strongly approved having grown up in a working flour mill.

I had a couple of them from ten years ago but they were lightly fungused, so thought I'd pick up another one.
Ten dollah!
The shipping and being stung a bit for duty just brought it up to a cheap enough price.
Bonus- it came with case, hood, and Pentax KA adapter, which are currently fetching much more than the whole price I paid.

Very good lens.
I have one - even better I have the 70 to 210 as well which is a constant F3.5 - both in canon fit.
Best thing of all - no damn autofocus.
Who needs autofocus? Most of the lenses tend to be used on infinity anyway. No losing focus at an air display for example!

A 4 wheel turntable trolley. Professionally made, very sturdy & the wheels run on bearings.
I'll be fitting a draw bar to tow it behind the lawnmower. It will be a lot safer for my dad to use for gardening than a big 85hp tractor!
12 lin bins & 6 stacking crates.
