I fixed my winch. New motor is rubbish and didn't fit fits and works now still rubbish motor in comparison.

I did suspect it deffinatly aint going last in the Warn winch. ?I did get a refund for it so I have to try!
I think I will kill it quickly and get a BOW2 motor.

I fixed a couple of scabby generators I pulled out of a skip, one just needed the recoil starter fixed and the carb cleaned, the other needed a spark plug cap and the carb cleaned.

Compressor fan cracked moved back on the shaft sand rubbed into motor housing melting a lot of it , Caught it just in time luckily

Temporary repair ring mounted around the plastic to keep its shape and aligned with keyway

Dont suppose anyone knows where i could buy a new fan?

Yep, and £20 is an absolute steal, you'd easily get a hundred back for it on eBay, I'd keep it though.

Trying to make a boiler fan work again this morning.
Its 4 pole series wound and I can't make it work with 12-60v DC with a PWM controller.
50 Ohms resistance which is pretty high so I'm thinking it may only work on a higher voltage or maybe AC?
Shame as I wanted to use it in a welder.

Look at the boiler wiring diagram or just stick a meter across the wires and try to start the boiler. The few that I've fiddled with are 240v ac.

Sort of fixed, fitted four new boots to the kennel/mobile tool box

I took the rusty machine vice apart and cleaned it up. It works well now. I didn't go overboard with the cleaning as it is a functional working vice. Not bad for something that has been laying in the mill cabinet for 15 years!

Britool top box, almost immaculate but missing a key, I will try and make a similar cam lock fit it.
