Made 3 sliding doors last winter,galvanised,then the customer lined and insulated them,t&g inside and out,insulated between,this one has a folding half to avoid a stone Cill ,the jack is taking quite some weight,so he’s going to rig up a screw jack when they’re in the closed position.Hes planning to use them during the winter as this is quite an elevated and exposed position,on the other side,east,the door is much larger but one piece.Behind these are huge full height windows to the lounge.

Serviced a Renault tragic for a lad a few doors down

I couldn’t find anything to fit the sump plug

so made this

Todays efforts, oak failed at the union cherry picker was ordered but was faulty this morning so i opted for a tension line between two sound trees .
This left me in a safe place if the tree had failed it would have fallen away from my line leaving me safe. The only rule being dont tie into the tree.


As per hire shop shut, and tree to weak to leave.

Made a new base board and a (out of shot at the back) bracket for my aforementioned 24v microwave:




And made a start on a pair of new marker boards for the wagon, which conveniently covers up the "Property of ---------- Council" stickers :




And now, as if by magic, I intend to make the entire contents of a bottle of 19 Crimes red wine disappear .

Between a long ish walk with the dog and family, and the after tea football chucking contest with the kids, I used the lathe.

For something quite productive may I add..



Turned by hand as I didn’t think I could get it to go slow enough to keep the windings neat enough. 245 turns on the secondary winding, and an extra 10 windings just in case. The 245 turns give 173v, so should give 413v between phases, which is close enough in my book

I finally posted a picture or two on here! It's a trolley for a magician. Bloody hell, the flight case boards are expensive.
It's not finished yet.

Tried my new sds max drill. Was impressed of how fast it ate this rock. 5 22mm holes 400 mm deep in less than 15 minutes. 12 Joule impact power really makes a difference.

They were out of larger drills so I either have to buy smaller wedges to crack it or use expanding cement.
Don't know what you call it but here it goes under the name "snail dynamite"

Sorry, feeling happier than normal at the moment. Seem to have passed through an invisible barrier at work and finally getting some Scottish loads. Had 2 runs to Edinburgh lately and off to Dingwall on Monday with one of three loads of rail (60' bullhead . Awful stuff, like to trying to lift wet spaghetti ), and another drop near the Kelpies at Falkirk. No matter how often I see them they still take my breath away .

I'm only doing what he asked for. It's a trade. He does three magic shows for me ( g/f's granddaughters birthday etc) and he gets what he wants. Of course, he then talks to other magicians, and, well, you
know how it goes
