Today I acquired...........

I was interested how they performed as I seam to go through the Makita ones all the time,only in the impact gun, I first thought I was doing some thing wrong. Glad I am not the only one, They dont seam to break in the screwdriver when the touque is cranked up so I am asuming its something to do with the impacting.

If anyone's curious, it took all week but I did break one.

They do grip the screw head very well.

Supposedly the Impaktor bit holder acts as a spring and smooths out the harshness of the impact. Sounds to me like that should lower the maximum achievable torque so maybe its marketing spank but someone on another forum claimed the holder makes the expensive bits last longer so I felt it worth a try. I've never seen a bit crack in a combi drill, it makes sense that an impact driver should be more punishing on bits.

I bought a couple of those a while ago. Used them for a while, but in the end went back to the original nuts & a pin spanner. I found with a few of the wheels I was using, the milwaukee nuts would tighten themselves up in use to the point that I had to get a pair of pliers on the flip-up handle to get them undone. It was happening so often that it didn't feel like they were adding much over the original nut so they got consigned to the "Where Tools Go To Die" drawer.

doesn't sound to promising does it , well time will tell weather i've wasted me money

Not bad for the price. Does take up a lot of space, for once the moulded tray works well.

I think I have a Jacobs on mine. That one's always worked spot on upto just.

Daughter just got a promotion higher up in a good job last week (can't say where) she has been working since 13 and started work at 16 and gone from hights to higher (don't know where she got it from must have been the best bits of my maths and otherhalfs English and general help shes helping me over the years helping in DIY she loved it helping dad)

Son phoned me today hes now a qualified bricklayer as of passing his final test today after 2 year of on site training and collage 1 day a week (got to say the guy he's working for did not use him as go fetch did spend time getting him laying bricks only after a couple months)

This in a sorry state for the sum of 2 quid I'm hoping its a bricky or roofer hammer in a local shop there was a large amount of general hammers there @Parm @The_Yellow_Ardvark I found this at the bottem and having a day off to have time to my self I thought why not so please if this is not a bricky or roofing hammer please say I dont want my son going on site with something from his dad thats not right

Any how I'm up to taking the head off added citric acid dip sand down the shaft put back together add a metal chock to secure the head and now the final oiling using door oill that I got a few months ago from Facebook for a cheap price

I know this sounds cheap but on site they loose a lot of stuff so buy good but not expensive stuff as get nicked or lost so if I present him this its a item to put on shelf for passing or as I'm hoping something he might use and as it cheap it one of those things that hang around for ever that you can loose but if it does not any thing lost

But the extra reson I'm asking is if its a bricky or chiping hammer should it have a more sharpened end on ?

yes it is a bricklayers hammer and the end should be like the end of a cold chisel or bolster even
though it will wear fairly quickly in use. He might well be chuffed.

Moved out of the elderly Daf and now back to doing it Swedish style. Much better motor, in fact it's chalk and cheese compared to the Daf, 60 ton/metre crane and a double extending trailer. Apart from the trial of having to find new homes for all my personal kit, sort out all the lifting gear, board out some of the trailer chassis for extra storage, and get to grips with yet another make of crane, all of which will take at least a couple of weeks, I'm looking forward to going to work next week, more so than I have for a while...

scania and daf are complete different ball parks like fiat and Mercedes

Par for the course for me, just got the trailer sorted and they give me another one .

After nigh-on 6 months, driving her I admitted defeat with the elderly Daf on Wednesday. At 20 years old and not having been loved for the last few of them, fixing constant breakdowns (and yes, I know that was beyond my remit, but the engineer and old school driver attitude in me couldn't sit back and wait for repair men charging silly money to appear) and the frustration of wondering what would go wrong next became too much for me, so I called the office and told them that I'd had enough and if they couldn't give me a reliable wagon, not new just reliable, I'd have to look for another job. And yes, I realise that it's a first world problem. I fully appreciate that many people are a lot worse off than me, but when you're having it 24 hours a day, 5-6 days a week, it begins to grate on your nerves.

My comments weren't a threat, simply me trying to retain what's left of my sanity, but to the immense credit of the company, they got back to me today and gave me the keys to this one. There are brand new motors coming soon, but I'm more than happy with this one, and the company are happy that I'm happy, so everyone is, err, happy. Scanias are head and shoulders above Dafs in all respects, in my opinion, there's more room in the cab, more power, it's better fitted out, and it's a smoother ride to boot. And the bonus is that my OH is happy as well. My frustration had lead to me moaning to her quite a lot, which she didn't want or need to hear, so this has put that problem to bed .
