Could of made it lower had it not been for wanting space for chemical toilet underneath.
Not much headroom used as a couch as I'm 6ft, but honestly I'm happy enough.
In couch form its a decent single bed and plenty of space underneath for whatever you need.

That's what I currently use in my van. No complaintsIf going that layout which I did for my basic camper I modified a steel frame Ikea futon bed, was spot on.
Which bed did you guys buy?
Mine is the Ikea Lycksele, Didn't pay a penny for it which is a result!
I like having a removable bed, As I do use my van for all purposes
Just nosed at their site. My bed comes in around £160 for metal, wood and foam for mattress.
Makes a bed of up to 117cm x 190cm, can fit chemical loo and even 25 ltr jerry cans underneath
For similar cost IKEA ones look like they'd struggle to get box for leisure battery underneath

Convenient that the video demos it in a van.
Depends on the application but certain things you can't beat a ticking stick.New to me, ive always messed about with a tape measure, this looks far more handy
Ta mate, never owned a van before so experienced advice much appreciated
Gotcha mateCheers Roofman
Plan is my daughter has as much use of van as she wants, and i want her to have home comforts while using it
She's a lot smaller than me and roof height shouldn't be an issue
But i get ya points mate
