Yeah thats the issue with them alright, and why i now use the digital ones as much as possible.

Digital ones are much more versatile. If you use a lathe or mill and want to make metric sized parts on an metal machine they are invaluable.

No chance. Although I suspect 38mm steel 1.4x1 would be pretty expensive.
I will actually use it as a stand for shrink wrapping pallets for now.
Perhaps later on a base for a heavy press.

Even with the forklift I am a tad worried. My other bench was 500kg and that was scary.

Or you could use it as a foundation for a skyscraper or maybe a support stand for oil rig maintenance, maybe an axle stand for a mining truck.

Any idea of its original purpose? That must be capable of holding a hundred tons. I have a set of (rather large) 8t each axle stands and they look tiny compared to that beast.
