I bought an identical set from Lewis Leathers on Great Portland Street in 1985, not the cheapest place to buy such things but it was five minutes round the corner from college. Lasted ok but as Farside says the ratchet is not the best though I think it still lurks in one of my Bisley draws along with most of the AF sockets, the metric ones were abused / lost during the many student house bike rebuilding sessions.

I recently helped one of the in-laws rebuild his bike engine and put it back in the bike, plus patched up the rotting exhaust. He dropped this lot round yesterday as a thank-you.

At the end of a year add it up and realize this is the amount of hard earned money you didn't have to work for. Any way you look at it, this is all profit, and no tax paid.

Reccomended by a friend who was replacing a Leatherman, he says he’s glad he saved the money

Mine was very old and unsure of brand but very worn out and one of the rivets popped out and half of it fell to pieces

£16 on Amazon, very heavy and solid, green laning at the weekend so I’m sure it will be tested

Just to add to my collection of old motors that i can use i picked up a VW T25 panel van, The price of a panel van is silly now so i got this before they start asking the price of a house for them.

It starts and runs and next week it is going for an MOT, Just needs some basic bits like an indicator stalk as it was snapped off by some vandals, but it seems to have metal in all the right places apart from a small hole in the sill and it started to overheat a bit so i think either a blocked radiator or needs bleeding with the front wheels on ramps.

Looks a beaut fingers crossed for the MOT, I picked up a T4 a few months back longest mot failure list I had ever seen which helped keep the price down for me, after a few days work sorting out the list its now on the road running a treat.

Had a trip to that London today as a mates brother had a bike thats been sat under a tarp for 20 years and they have finally given up on it.

we were there he asked if I could get rid of some other stuff for him so I now have one of these too.

Today I acquired some good news about collecting a huge lump of iron I bought yesterday. The seller will dissemble the tool and sort out an engine hoist and help with the loading. :thumbup:

I was lucky to purchase a Denbeigh #6 FlyPress with its original cast iron stand at a good price, and within reasonable driving distance for collection. I decided to look for a 6 ton as I figure it will be more than adequate for my needs, and anything larger would be physically more difficult to operate by one person holding the work piece and trying to swing a distant handle at the same time. The larger flypresse's seem to have rocketed in price recently which is probably due to the current interest in using them for Blacksmithing in a lot of videos.

Hopefully the weather forecasters will get it wrong again, and I will be able to acquire the press and post photos sometime next week; it's going to be an adventure for this old guy anyway, lol.

I had a 750 as my first 'proper bike'. First proper bike I fell off was a GPz11. There's a 900r in the shed in need of some TLC. I do like a GPz..

I never fell off the 11 at more than walking pace, slow London traffic and a sullen overheated stalled motor was the one that comes to mind. I am only 12 stone so when it gets beyond the point of no return the bast practice was to jump clear. Surprising how quickly you can get a heavy bike back the shiny side up when there are lots of people watching.

I was on the back of a mates 11. He found some black ice and the first I knew about it was when I was sliding up the road on my backside.

Enquired to Whitby & Co. about getting surge repaired, general wear and tear with a spot of abuse thrown in over several years and the Leatherman lifetime guarantee kicked in.
They asked me to send it back to somewhere in Cumbria with list of problems and new one came back in the post. FOC other than postage.
