Well it was yesterday.
I acquired some things.
One freshly uncovered left leg. Dressings and supports removed and another dose of X rays. Soon I will glow in the datk.
Space in workshop. I sold on to a couple of shops I frequent a selection of surplus tools I have restored and brought back to life.
Normally those tools get donated to Men In Sheds or other tool charities. But This lot were even surplus to them. Plus I needed to recoup some expenses I have encountered. I certainly did that. Shame one organisation did not heed my advise and traded 3 times as much as I did and got less.
They didn't even clean the tools.
But what has also happened is I have shocked some people.
4 tool places and I did not buy anything!!!!!!!!!
In fact I parted with money, I brought my friend lunch for driving me around and moving the heavy box's.
I will now go back to laying down in a dark place.

I acquired this the other day.
The history is interesting, it pre-dates Stanley tools. The company was brought by Stanley early on in Stanley history.
The legacy is the orange on the gear wheel is carried through.
That's as I got it.
It was free, but was in need of some attention.
In bits.
The stripping showed the main frame was twisted.
Gentle heat allowed me to bend it true, between to bits of oak.
I then managed to get it passed through a powder coating oven, about 4 times. Then allowed to cool in sand.
The shaft for the wooden handle, as well as the handle could not be saved. The wooden handle is so worn and split. The metal shaft broke and all but disappeared in the de rusting tank.
Powder coated, cost me 4 packs of sweet biscuits.
99.99% finished.
The wooden handle was "liberated" from another old Stanley hand drill and it fitted with almost no modifications.
I just need 1 UNC wing nut bolt, on order. It will be used to hold the small table in place.
No joy in finding a drill vice for that drill, yet.

Today I acquired this for the other half for her Christmas.
It is by the blacksmith/welder in the boatyard, Liam Stewart, he is a very talented painter.
It is titled The Hunter.
Sadly it is just a limited edition print as the original was claimed by his wife.
The photo I have taken doesn't really do it justice.
It is 690mm x 300mm

Well, not so much acquired....more received. 
A phone call from the Ophthalmology Dept at my local hospital asking if I could attend on Friday afternoon for my second cataract operation, as they've had a late cancellation. Original estimate for the wait was for late Jan/early Feb, from going on the waiting list in September.
I phoned them about 10 days ago to check on progress and was asked if I wanted to go on the cancellations list. I agreed, although I was originally told I couldn't be on both....
, by someone who's 'no longer there' 
. It seems to have paid dividends, although there were 20 names ahead of me when my name was added...
Wish me luck - see what I did there?

Congrats, that's a nice acquisition !
I was lucky enough to find a vintage Moore & Wright 1/2" mic. that reads in tenths, which came in a spectacle case; its my go to micrometer for small work.

4 sided sharpening stone.
200, 400, 600 1,000 grit.
It needed a dust off and with a honing guide does put a decent edge on a chisel.

Acquired this 12 months ago at a Christmas bazaar in a lovely Somerset hamlet whilst visiting friends. I had to leave it behind however as we were in the wife's car and there wasn't room for everything once we came to leave for home, this year we went in my daily driver. £1 per drawer.
They are cracking bits of kit.
Crud buster or mbx under different names.
Properly evil but one of the fastest ways of removing stone chip, underseal and sound deadening.

Yeah tried it out today on the boot floor of an 89 fiesta and it's awesome, way more effective than a wire wheel in a grinder. Just need to find a supplier for the belts
