I don't know if they cut the roots, or otherwise kill them, but they won't continue growing.

So the basil seems to be grown from seed in the pot, theres about 14 plants in a 3inch pot! and the mint clearly was from a cutting in a 2cm plug and they dont release the roots at all, so its potbound before its even started, I have washed all the compost off, and they are spending 2 hours soaking before going in to the hydroponic system later this afternoon.

The lawn mower now runs, but smokes very bad. I suspect it is residue of the odd fuel mix.
No idea what the mix was, but dark red is not a good colour for unleaded.

It will get a new plug and a clean.
I hope running it on fresh fuel will help reduce the smoke. The smoke is not burning sump oil. The exhaust was snooty as was the plug.

The BBQ needs no main parts, but the "Posh bits", tong hooks etc. But They all are meant to come in one bag, alongside instructions and tools.
They are on the way to me via Post Man Pat.

The slide, we will move on from that.

Mower is now smoke free.
Had a friend run it round the allotment grass paths, 2 tanks of fresh unleaded and it runs smooth as a you like.
It looks like it was wrong fuel or as found in the box
Some American fuel stabilizer additive.

Parts for BBQ have also arrived, so many bits. Including a spanner. I will not be using that.

Cat likes the slide, has bean seen climbing the steps and sliding down.

But The cat did not like the useless Engineer BT who still has not fixed the issue. The cat leapt onto his leg with claws.
I did not laugh to much.
We told him many times not to try and befriend the cat, oh well.

Today I acquired an Aldi circular saw, for the grand sum of £30 delivered,

Seems ok, instructions a bit scarce on how you fit the batteries for the laser, I never understood why you needed a laser anyway, comes with a fine tooth blade and a normal blade, strange that the Allen screw is standard thread, I am used to these being left hand threaded,

It has a 3 year warranty, but to be fair it’s worth it just for cutting the 5 sheets of OSB3 for my extension roof,

Normally I just borrow one from my brother, but his is 20 years old, and needs the blade replaced,

Ok it’s not as good as the cordless Marita or dewalt, but it’s £30 delivered, and I only need use of one occasionally.

Being as we are on Aldi items, I bought some air shears for £19.99 a couple of days ago. So far, brilliant, I tried it on 1mm steel, rattled straight across easily, 1.5mm cuts it without a problem & no distortion. So far I'm impressed, especially at that price. I won't use them that often, but have got to be easier than tinsnips.

Picked up these markers in lidl a while back and just opened them tonight. They're united office brand. I've been using them for marking some stainless steel sheet and they're awesome, they leave about a .5mm line and are really hard to rub off when dry. Definitely worth buying if you see them.

No, that won't be necessary - I'd hate to put you to any trouble. I have a small bottle of the Singer oil I've had for years, just interested to know if it could serve the same purpose as your Starrett.

Bludgeoned part into a hastily machined jig. One bit wasn't keen on coming out of said jig. How to get it out, without marking it? Just the job!

They make those clamps down the road from me at Brauer, you can get the quality control rejects from their skip.

Not today I actually got them a while back.
First is this sealey metal cutting shears. For the price I'm actually very impressed with how nicely it cuts, not a high end machine by any means but nice.

The frame is actually 3 pieces welded together and then plastered with fillers to look like one piece, finish is a bit suspect.

Next is this 12" slip rolls, works fine for light duty work.
