Can't see it very well, but I had to put a small set in the SWA to bring it out from the wall so it enters the gland square when I put some sockets into @Cato new unit.

I pushed more cable up from below the floor and clipped it in place and was then able to get it clipped back against the rear wall.

snould have bent the swa backto wall out of the floorboard then bent up at the bottom of wall then fit a saddle in the middle of cable to support and make it neat . you can still do it if you pull some up out of the floorboards

I think the requirement to warn of mixed colours has been taken out of the latest version of the regs

That would explain some of the actions of the less than first class electrician I had do some work at the cottage.
I thought there was such a thing - still want a notice on the CU tho!

I'm not surprised. Like how discrimination became selectivity.

It's still discrimination in my world, if someone doesn't like it they can go and be offended somewhere else.
Same as voltages, it's still 415 and 240 volts.

I think it would be better if the paint was cleaned off the old cables. Of course maybe waiting for SWMBO to do the final check.

You'll be pleased to hear I thought the same thing and spent 10 minutes scraping it off.

I decided not to fit an EV orientated CU for the time being as the regs may change before I ever (if ever) get an EV. Instead I've put in some salvaged 6mm over to the existing garage CU and will fit a 32 amp fuse in the new isolator switch.

Mainly to do with uni or bi-directional RCBO's I think, I haven't really bothered looking into it just yet.

That's what made me delay, could be 10 or 20 years before I get an EV.

They have changed and it is 10 pages of mostly twaddle with one relevant one in the middle.
Won't matter for EV chargers unless the EV is feeding back into the house and there are currently very few chargers installed with that capability!
