i put one in at a pub under load and knew it was coming waited till a bloke took a sip of his beer and put it in .a bloody big flash and and crack and he spilt his beer all over was only a 125 amp load

Actually, this one could be OK, if I put it right over to the right and get the SWA access on the right at the base.

Get a Lewden one. They can have in/out either end if that helps. Fitted one recently though I swapped out the DP isolator for a Type S 100mA RCD. (TT incoming and then SWA supplying an outbuilding).

I looked at that one but it wasn't suitable as I needed to bring the tails in from the left side.

Would have been preferable but crawl space in that area is restrictive. Not too worried about water funnel as it's dry down there.

Anyway, I went down to the founds, crawl hole through walls is tiny and painful. Drill bit was into the edge of the fireplace base in the foundations. Excavated out one stone and got to drill bit.

Half way through the second hole the SDS has packed in, I'm off to Screwfix now.

Done, second hole for SWA will now easily clear the fireplace foundation, will just have to be chased into the brickwork a bit.

Well that's them in, still to drill a hole up though the floor into the meter cupboard tomorrow.

This section will get covered in concrete rather than dig deeper, then slabs on top.

The new CU will go here.

What are the regs on clipping the SWA in the fuse cupboard? I think if I clip it it will put more strain on it.

If you put a set in the swa it can be clipped without straining.

Pull a bit back and bend it to shape like you would with pipe.
