You’ve exposed it now, watch it go!A guy I know who builds garden offices has recently switched from OSB to plywood due to the latter being cheaper
There's a good 2-300 sheets of OSB lining the fence along side the railway track where they are doing roadworks.
I'm surprised none have gone missing......yet
austerity is not the way to go it kills the recovery spending helps the economy recover far faster

April was a long time ago..Doesn't he put on his quote, material prices subject to change etc? Cos he should.a builder on the job im on is starting another extension the bloke got quotes for gear in april one was for roof trusses £1800 he dallied about and now they are a thousand quid dearer
Been struggling with this most of the year.Just got a quote for my latest batch of material.
£35 per sheet on 18mm HDF (priced per pallet).
£14.50 per sheet on 4mm MDF (priced per pallet)
All plus VAT.
Our costs have doubled this year alone.
That works out at £1250 per ton on man made Timber products.
Surely this can't go on?
builder was fortunate it was up to the customer to give him a start date and messed him about with one reason or another so the material quote is out of the door and just for the labor quote is the same and standsApril was a long time ago..Doesn't he put on his quote, material prices subject to change etc? It's all the demand for the all to make the foil hats.....Aluminium and stainless didn't move much when wood and steel prices were rocketing but the last two months have made up for that, it has gone up 80% plus. 6 months ago I was about £47 for some 3"*3"*1/4" angle, today it was £80 something.
Haha you might well be rightIt's all the demand for the all to make the foil hats.....
But if the drivers are underpaid it's not fair either.Everyone seems to think that rapidly soaring driver's wages are great. Not really. Inflation is starting to climb rapidly. Yes the drivers will get more money but EVERYTHING is going up in price to match.
