I didn't weld this, but my Mini Me did.
All I did was supply, well my scrap bin supplied the metal.
All I provided was the voice of reason.
No I stood , drank coffee and watched.

My last 3 days work

I had a pile of 50 x 50 box section offcuts between 300 and 500 long, so joined them all up into a long length then cut it up again to make this, there are some joints in odd places but its only for myself so not a problem, its just to smarten up an untidy corner in the workshop, that's not a handle on the end its to carry TIG welding rods

MDF Came out of a skip and the castors are from an old NHS trolley that I modified some time ago, total cost £0.00p apart from a few hours of my time while waiting for a customer to make his mind up about a job.

A pair of engine mounts from a teledyne continental 8.5litre aircraft engine. My college project is to build a good one from two scrappers. First job is to get the good block off the pallet and onto a stand.

Not the nicest stuff to weld, appears to be good quality material used in the casting but have been sat soaking up oil for god knows how long, still I managed to stick them together

When I made Dave for a laugh I had no idea he would win me a prize, and given I have never won anything and the fact I did not know when I tweeted a picture of him it was a competition to win a welding mask it was a shock when I got a reply saying "your a winner of..." So cheers Dave, you won me a welding mask! Top bloke...haha

A bit of fire service stuff this week - galvanised training house window shutters - RHS frame, 2mm galv plate panels, seals so they are smoke tight etc. The big ones weigh 200kg, so solid construction - a regular job for us.

Then some crawl cages, pre coating, set in a dark room for the fire boys and girls to crawl round with BA gear on etc - some blank panels are provided to change the layout/create dead ends without them knowing to see how they deal with being stuck in a smoke filled/restricted space. Being tested here by a couple of fabricators. The big ones we do are 4 story, and 5 times the size on plan - they are fun. This is only a small station with limited space.

Can't show much more of the fire service stuff unfortunately - don't think they would be too impressed.
