So every year they fail they file an appeal.

Get inspected again but with an inspector who is qualified to make "acceptations"

Fixed an office chair for a friend, he's a larger chap and a weld had cracked where the gas strut meets the bit the seat bolts to, it was moving around and squeking, presumably as he reached for a pie......

Did take me 3 attempts to get it to weld, turning the gas on the reg and the flow meter helps with mig welding

i wanted to sweep the floor but i could not see it time to do something about it with what i already have and i came up with this. i am no expert with welding but i am a trier never had the mig up this high i normally play with thiner stuff. Started with the steel table i have used for cutting wood way to big so i chopped it in half and made a two tier rack I CAN NOW SEE THE FLOOR

Stripped down the weight bench I'm making to start painting it. I've rattled my head off the parts hanging from the ceiling once it twice.

Assembled the framework for the bench I'm making (it all still fits together)
I've ordered 2" thick, firm foam to go onto a plywood base.
I've bookmarked a site on eBay that sells fabric for motorcycle seats, which I'll use to cover the foam.

This is my new small workbench which I've been working on for the last few days.

Still a few bits to do, some extra diagonal braces at the other side, maybe another shelf, and some screw-down feet for levelling it when it's parked.

Already got a 6mm top to go on it, just need to make sure it's flat with shims and a straight-edge and bolt it down with countersunk bolts

Fully aware that my yard's a tip and my welding sucks, but it's not come out too badly

I have been making parts for airbus's fuel tanks

What sort of testing do they do on those toddy?

They are 100% xray, die pen and pressure test
Will put some of the rolls royce bits ive done on later.

And at home i have now got a rtech digital ac/dc 170.

But yesterday I took a few more pic's and had to do my 1mm stainless fillet test.

7.8T portal frame barn. 130 man hours from a big pile of bits and a file of drawings to a finished job off for galv. Nice easy job.
Me and another lad welded it all up - smaller rafters have 8m of 8mm fillet weld at each end, the bigger ones its 10mm fillets so every weld is three runs.
