Had these mini boring bars a while. Making a holder, need a longer 2.5mm slotdrill

Had to use a 1mm carbide cutter to machine the little badge for a classic speedboat. Made from 316 and I bought 5 cutters as I reckoned I would snap quite a few, one did the job. Mind you if I had only bought one I reckon it would have snapped at the first ramp in

I had to make a new flame pipe for a large gas bbq, which meant drilling 300 holes in a length of 3/4" gun barrel pipe. I bought a box of 10 1/8" drill bits, thinking I'd need a few. One bit drilled all the holes, leaving me plenty of spares.

Had some issues trying to mill steel parting tool holder, and even fly cutting aluminium. One of my chinese SWT endmills is finally blunt and saddle lock needed adjusting

A bigger tool holder is more useful than a smaller tool, 14 opened to 16mm. Parting tool is 19mm so will take 3mm from that too.

No idea I’m afraid. I don’t even know what sized crane it’s off to make a guess based on the density of the cargo!

Tried milling the parting holder. New carbide endmill, took ages to remove just 1mm So toolholder back in vice and took 2mm off the screw side. Now 18mm capacity instead of 14mm.

Milled a 100x100x40 alu lump square - will put a 40mm hole for mounting die grinder/vdi40 milling chuck. And a 120x60x30 lump of steel, it'll either become a cross slide mount or a toolholder.

I need to change my milling setup for less overhang. I will loose 25mm travel as the vice wont be able to drop below the cross slide/saddle and another 10-15mm if I use a mounting plate.
Option 1, drill two extra mounting holes in cross slide.

Option 2. Can move it even futher back if it doesnt cause bendyness and chatter.

This might not seem like much but I'm rather chuffed after grinding the 55 deg tool then single pointing a 26 TPI thread to make a fitting that screwed in place oh so snugly. :-)

Bike had a puncture, sorted that with a string and decided I need to make my kit more compact to fit in the bike. Chopped the big plastic handles and turned this very quick.

I don't suppose you want to take on an engineering student for an industrial placement...

Bike has been a pain with bad access parts needing work. What would be nice is stubby spanners and ratchet, so got angle grinder out. Also chopped parting tool and lh turning tool.

Got a nice DTI arrive in the post. Broke the soldered shim on my indcator holder. New brass screw, with end turned 60 degrees.

That saying, "Dont put your fingers where you wouldnt put your dick". Well applies to face too. Leaning into the gap behind to fit chip guard and a ccmt tool twatted me in the lip.

First chips in ages. Boring out a 3" lump to be spindle pulley/hub for the 110mm and 180mm pulleys.
