I am well aware you can change it,however It’s a pain in the arris especially when you have multiples to list. Even if you list something and use custom postage then copy it by using sell similar item, it reverts back to what they want you to use. Gets very tedious having to edit ever single listing now …when before all you changed was the photo and the size designation when selling thread chasers for example

I've had some listings removed under the bladed items policy,
Carbide inserts and hacksaw blades,
I can understand that because they had the words "cutting" and "blade" in the titles.

I've also had some cable glands removed.
Presumably because they are the emc type and have a serrated washer that cuts through paint on an enclosure to maintain electrical bonding. This information was in the description rather than the title though!

Not sure if they actually listened, I don't remember hearing anyone ask for a cheaper price for an evri Collect from Store option?

I've removed the 'deliver to a collection location' from most of my listings.
I found that, with about 1/3 of those items, the buyers never bothered to collect the item (or they never got sent a collection notification)
I think some buyers see that option like Screwfix or Argos, paying for it just holds it for you for a few days but you get a refund if you decide you don't want it.

Id guess that's more of a deal ebay have worked out with evri rather than something sellers have asked for?

For me im home band so collection with royal mail is good for me . Just a week or so ago royal mail starting charging 30p for home collection. So I just added the extra 30p to postage. But the new rules means I can't have collection from my house anymore. ?

Not many choices left.

If you turn off the evri option then you can download the royal mail lable then go onto the royal mail website and book a collection using the tracking number. (And pay the 30p)

My wife listed an old fan, (the type ladies cool their faces with) earlier in the year on ebay and it got removed. The reason, it was from Cuba.
You couldn’t make it up sometimes.

I'd guess you have to print the label as you need the tracking number fron it to book the collection.

I've avoided using the 'bring my label' option as I've had a few issues with the postie putting the wrong label on the wrong item..


On my ebay account it is still letting me use 'custom postage'. I'm not sure how much longer it will do that as I thought simple delivery was supposed to be mandatory by now...

What is the alternative though. None seem to stand the test of time. Anything that is free offer genuine buyers and sellers no protection, and only realistic payment option is bank transfer, which can be risky.

Will probably end up like the budget when they raise the tax on alcohol, fags, and fuel. We all puff out out chests and proclaim "thats it, I ain't paying that", then gradually creep back.

You're not losing money to ebay fees and you can still do custom postage options so if anything it's better than what is was before the 12% fees

No longer affects me, as I don't drink or smoke now , but lots of people do that.

Ebay is still far cheaper than a regular auction house for both buyers and sellers.

Its also far more convenient for me as a buyer as I just buy something and it arrives at my door.

It's also still about the only place you can buy 'not mainstream' products at decent prices. Not may places you can buy 2× M24 stainless socket cap bolts for under £10.
Plenty of suppliers that will sell me a box of 100 at only 50p each but they'll have a £15 delivery charge and require me to register an account and so on...

I buy niche stuff pretty often on eBay, just recently sold a few things and have to say it was all pretty painless.

Also been ordering Amazon Prime stuff next day delivery and surprised 3 of 4 things delivered by RM next day.

Print off the royal mail label via the eBay website and then go to the royal mail website and book collection using the tracking code. I've done it about 4 times since eBay changed to "simple" delivery. Costs 30p each time. It's just a pain in the bum doing the booking.

I never sell anything on there, but Ebay, Amazon, Aliexpress etc. are all useful sites. If I want something quick, I'll usually check Amazon first, but if time isn't a concern, I'll use any/all.

I don't own a printer so that mite be my next purchase. I believe you can buy one just for postage lable.
