Only relevant to sellers on a private account
You're better off just using the simple delivery, it gives you full coverage even if ebay sends it through say evri for the standard £20 insurance they take the hit and pay out fully vs you having to charge more to pay for a more insured service.

I have no printer and always use collection and postman brings labels.

I think you can choose which carrier you use with simple delivery.
So, only select royal mail.
Then you'll have to download the lable to get the barcode number then you van at least book a collection from the royal mail website. During that booking process it might give you the option for them to bring the label with them? (They do if you book direct)
If the postman is turning up anyway you don't actually need to book a collection, they'll just take it anyway and the tracking shows up once it's been scanned.
So, you should only need to book one collection just to get the postie to turn up. Not sit there and book in every item.

Aside from (possibly) needing a printer it seems like a fairly simple solution and I'm not sure why everyone is so mad about it.
Biggest downside is the only choices are evri or royal mail.
The cheapest price for any size item is something like £2.70 so way more than something letter size that could be sent for 70p.
Also the compensation is limited to £100
I'm confused about that as they also say you are 'fully covered' for any loss or damage?
On the upside,
You don't have to type in any names, addresses or tracking numbers.
Once it's scanned as 'collected' it's (apparently) not your problem any more.
Yet to see how this will work if a buyer has an item running late though!
Most of my parcels go royal mail 48 tracked as they collect from my address for free. Much easier than going to the post office.
I use DPD 24 for larger boxes (60*60*60cm 20kg max) as they accept a larger box size than royal mail. They also deliver more quickly, for less.
I sometimes split an item into two DPD parcels due to excessive weight or dimensions.
I suspect eBay are going to make some of the above a problem.

I also like to use Royal Mail due to the convenience of them collecting.That's fine if you want to wait around all day for a collection. The vast majority of items that I sell I can carry, and it just so happens that our Londis is enabled route to my local coffee shop
Currently, I can still get away leaving parcels at the front door without them getting stolen (I do have a few CCTV cameras around my property so that might help to deter parcel thiefs) so luckily I don't have to wait for RM to come around. They just pick and scan the parcels and off they go.

Not having the final choice annoys me. I use RM because they have never lost anything and it’s convenient. Sold two things over the weekend. Both chose the bargain basement/ lowest common denominator postal service , ie, Evri. It’s in convenient as it’s in totally the opposite direction to where I travel daily. So took it on the chin. Two to drop off so how bad can it be?
830am yesterday “ sorry sir but due to the bank holiday we aren’t accepting Evri collections” Really? It’s Tuesday. It’s not a bank holiday. “ Yes, but they haven’t collected since Friday so we have no more space so we aren’t taking anymore “ Great
7pm lastnight? Same story, no Evri muppets in sight, so no can do
So third trip today. They eventually take it. Well that was a total waste of time and Diesel. You couldn’t make it up….

Parcelforce were supposed to collect from me last Wednesday. After several emails, they collected yesterday, and what makes me larf about it, is just like the doctors etc, they seem to think you are at home all day with nothing else to do. Same with Machine Mart, who the parcel was going to. Another shower of s**t company who I will not be buying from again.
I see the eBay thing still makes no allowance for packing materials or travelling to drop off, forcing you to factor it into the price and reducing your chance of selling.

For me im home band so collection with royal mail is good for me . Just a week or so ago royal mail starting charging 30p for home collection. So I just added the extra 30p to postage. But the new rules means I can't have collection from my house anymore. ?

If you read the end of my last post or any other ebay announcement on simple delivery you will see you can easily turn off evri so just gives royal mail as the choice.

I am well aware you can change it,however It’s a pain in the arris especially when you have multiples to list. Even if you list something and use custom postage then copy it by using sell similar item, it reverts back to what they want you to use. Gets very tedious having to edit ever single listing now …when before all you changed was the photo and the size designation when selling thread chasers for example
