then apply some acf50 inside the sil once its done ,,,, that tends to give it a chance of staying fixed ,,,, and dose it every two or three years after that

Looking at that last photo I think you will be in for quite a bit more work than you anticipated. By the time it gets like that it has usually spread well into the structure.
Personally I would be looking at just cutting the whole sill off and seeing what is lurking. Opinions may vary.

I can only assume you are referring to those models with fibey roofs......
I hope not but like you say it could be into the inner sills which I’m dreading but won’t know till I start cutting rot out, I can get new sills and inner sills but not sure if it’s an easy enough fix
if you're planning on doing the work to a good standard (cutting rot out/ butt welding etc) might be an easier job with a nicer outcome if you could get a pattern outer sill. even if don't use the full panel? p,s don't listen to the lies about fords rusting badly 
Yes I’m planning on doing it properly and yes I can buy pattern parts and chitchat I need off ! I'm on my 3rd Connect van... all from new. The first was EN03 MYT, we sold it with 137,000 miles on in 09 and it was still on the road in 2021 but DVLA site shows no record available so I presume scrapped.
The second was YG09 KZJ, that was traded in 2014 at 127,000 and DVLA says last V5 issued 2021 but no MOT since 2022, so it too is probably history but might just be parked somewhere awaiting a welder
A look at the MOT failures (on both, when the first one still showed) suggested that they might have both made 200k miles (YG was on 193k at last MOT with sills as advisories, though EN had failed on corrosion close to suspension mounts). The rest looks to have been mostly neglect, lack of care (blown bulbs, worn tyres and brakes etc).
My current one's a 2014 Mk2, just coming up to 170k, bit of bubbling at the lower front edges of the rear arches and plenty surface rust under the rear floor and around the front chassis leg extensions but the sills are still OK (said he, crossing everything). It was supposed to be chopped-in about 5 years ago but Covid messed that up so we just hung onto it... and then I bought it from the company. So now the bills are mine
