You can make one Tinbasherdan. We used to make them, all the ones I used were shop made.

As with many things, I know I can make one, but do I ever get the time to make one? Do I buggery!

For impact drivers do not buy the cheap ones. Vessel are well known to be good (it's what I have). Koken should be good too and they make one with a hand grip to be a bit safer.

If you need something easier, quicker and more violent a "shake n break" is what you want. It is an attachment for an air hammer.

To be fair, I could imagine something like that being useful for getting big chucks or vices on and off lathes and milling machines - something you want to move with carefully with some precision but is too heavy to do it comfortably.

I used an impact driver for years when servicing mowers [big & small], it was the only way to remove the screws in the sole plates when renewing them.
