How do you find the Cooper AT3?
I'm currently running Continental Cross Contact ATR which will be ready for replacement come the Autumn, considering different options including Cooper, Toyo and Kumho AT tyres.
The premium brands have just got ridiculously priced so happy to look at mid range stuff.
Talking of expensive tyres, work colleague has just bought a used Audi Q7 with 22" wheels. Priced a tyre in her size just for a giggle, 285/35/22 - £330 each

I've got my second set of Yokohama Geolander GO15 AT on the Surf and I'm pretty happy with them.
I changed the old set as they were 9 years old and I don't like old tyres, they still had about 5-6mm of tread left so I sold them cheap.
They are fairly quiet and seem to grip well in the wet, I can get the back end out on wet roundabouts if I boot it hard though

still uncomfortable on rough pot holed roads though , mght be shocks are going home

those geolanders are near £200 a corner !!! sheesh

I've taken to just buying the cheapest tyres I can find which have atleast B rated wet grip and atleast 320 tread wear. Usually keep an eye on eBay and buy them in twos with a voucher well before I need them.
The only time I had my fingers burned was with "joyroad" which i bought from a tyre shop and they wore incredibly unevenly including wearing eccentrically - one half was showing cords while the other half had 1.6mm tread lol.

Never understood this. You then end up having to replace 4 tyres a once at twice the cost.

How is it twice the cost? It's just in one go instead of two hits. Always better to have four matching tyres then keep swapping two at a time.

It's recommended to put new tires on the rear as they reckon people can handle understeer easier than oversteer.

Not sure cheapest is best and I definitely don't buy tyres made by a company I've never heard of. We bought my son his first car last year which came with 3 different makes of tyres on it all of dubious origin. First purchase was 4 matching Kumho all season tyres for it.

Mrs Robo had a Peugeot service plan with her 308 and had some nice alloys with Toyo tyres fitted, the Peugeot garage had a hissy fit when it went in for a service, the report stated they were budget tyres and only had 6mm of tread left which was dangerous I think it was because it didn't have the factory fit Michelin tyres on.

I’ve only ever had Toyo’s on my Morgans, they’re ace and very popular with Morganists.

My dad had a new Skoda Yeti which came with Pirelli tyres, they started to disintegrate after a few years with very few miles on them. When he ordered a Karoq to replace it he told the dealer if it came with Pirelli tyres he wasn't taking it until they changed them. Fortunately it didn't.

Me too, I think anything other than Michelin would be marked down as budget by the Peugeot garage.

i wont buy michelin any more. 4 primacy hp tyres(1st generation of these, replacing pilot primacy) 6 months old warranted for heavy cracking in the treads. 6 weeks (yes weeks) later, one popped and 3 very very cracked tyres, warranty refused 'it must be environmental'

yeah, the environment was planet earth dude, your rubber is crap! set of contis fitted and no trouble, wore them out in 3 years, new set fitted, car sat for 5 years, still good..... same tires on it when i sold it they where 10 years old.

This is something to consider with tyres now. It's worth doing a bit of research as some makes seem very prone to cracking. Not always the cheapest either.
My Sorento has 11 year old Comforser's on it (yes, they need changing but I need to get other jobs done on it first) and they are like greased teflon on ice in the wet. On the plus side I have got quite good at anticipating and controlling oversteer.

Mother put a set of cheap chinese tyres on my old BMW when I bought it back from her. Habilead HF330. At the time, I thought, 'great, thanks mum, you know I am buying the car back you could have considered my life when you put the cheapest tyres you could find on it' ... Normally I wouldnt touch a brand i had never heard of like this and would have paid for better ones if I'd known what she was doing.

Initially i thought i would replace them fairly quickly but didnt get round to it... then a year on and 10k miles though they have performed pretty well. They are run flats so the ride is a bit stiff, but they have worn well and handled well in most conditions. I use a land rover if icy or snow as I cant be bothered with the rwd BMW in those circumstances whatever rubber is on it! They are a bit of a lottery though i imagine.

Lots of tyres are cracking within 2 years now. Doesn't matter the brand. Continental is one of the worst for it.
I put Kumho winter tyres on my car in November, they were good in the ice and snow but are awful in wet conditions.

Not up to speed on tyre choices now, but back in the day they were considered a very good performance tyre and very popular.
I used to burn through a set in about 12k on a high performance FWD - but they would stick like ****e to a blanket - pulled off some very silly manoeuvres I otherwise really shouldn't have got away with when I was young and dumb.
Not so good in the wet, but a great tyre for hooning on a dry day.
