Yeah it's a bit loud. That's the problem with looking at colour samples online. If I'd known how green it was going to come out I'd have gone with the pastel green rather than the yellow green. Not to worry it'll still work

Me: still hasn’t got round to fitting a lathe tachometer I bought 18 months ago.

I got all the masking tape off today and un-plugged all the holes. Got a couple of bits assembled. Cleaning up or replacing all the fasteners is time-consuming but it has to be done.

I have changed all of the chewed-up 12mm nuts for some nice brass ones I had squirreled away. Looks nicer than modern plated nuts and they won't rust.





Tomorrow I will assemble the dividing head and possibly the high-speed milling head too.

Got 14 bits in primer. Needs a couple of touch-ups and a flat-down with scotchbrite which I will do this evening then I will probably put the top coat on tomorrow. It's not a first-class job by any means but I'm satisfied with it. It's just a machine, after all.
