Dear sirs, my name is Beto, I live in Palmas, capital of the state of Tocantins-Brazil.
I'd like to be part of this topic, I'm starting a renovation work on a 1963 TOS FN22 milling machine, some doubts are running through my head. and if possible I would like to put some pictures of what I am doing in this restoration and count on your help.
this is my first machine.
I apologize for my bad English, and I will do my best to make myself enter clearly.
thanks.
Pete, I hope after you HerculanIan task cleaning and scraping this machine you slaver the bright work with Shell Ensis or similar rust inhibiting oil Be a great shame to see them turning brown.
You are very lucky if things dont rust much. How is the workshop constructed / ventilated / heared?I would Andrew but nothing seems to rust in my workshop. If I left bare scraped or ground iron bare for 6 months, it might develop the slightest brown haze but if I give it a wipe with duck oil it will last for years.
It was only just recently that I bothered to paint my straight edges and that was only to keep me occupied.
Hi Guys
I am new to this forum and am from Durban South Africa.
I have recently acquired a TOS FN22 milling machine so am looking to connect with other owners.
@pete, that is a nice wall rack!
When I took delivery of my machine it had around 6 liters of oil in the main gearbox (not feed box) which was way above the oil gauge line.
My first question is, this main gearbox oil level line seems to be below any of the gears in the box, and there also does not appear to be any type of splasher to splash the oil up onto the gears, is this correct?
looking forward to any comments or thoughts.
Mark
Thank you, Pete!! Every help is warmfully welcomed. Unfortunately I don´t have any collet but I find (https://forum.strojirenstvi.cz/viewtopic.php?t=20571&p=416602&hilit=kleština+FN22#p416602) this sketch below with dimensions. According to FN22 user manual, there are 10 collets, from 3 to 12 mm.Hi Neto,
Welcome to the forum. I can help you with this. I can take as many photos and dimensions as you need. I'll try and do it this weekend for you.
Did your machine come with collets? If it did, I would very much like to get some dimensions off one of them.
Regards
Pete.
