Today I ordered a new switch. My own fault, I was warned, more than once by @m_c that the switch on the little CNC lathe was not up to the job, well inevitably it failed:



Yes folks, i was using ths rather small very femme switch to turn ALL the power on, wouldn't care I had the solution on the shelf:



So when I get five minutes tomorrow I will install the relay and replace the switch

I have small and long fingers it would have been a nightmare to held and draw it on target.

Some CNC laser cut parts from my drawings. First time I've ever done this. Can't wait to see what turns up. A few people on here mentioned doing this recently, so I took the plunge after getting three online quotes. Fractory came out cheapest but with the longest lead time. In no rush so went with them. Terrible influence on here....

Thought sod it. I'll have both ⅜" & ½" impact sockets of theirs, when the ½" set arrives, so I may as well round it off with a ¼" set.

Went with a full set on the ¼" mainly for the extension bars & such.

i have a cheap maybe £6 version of this and it works surprisingly well so id imagine that one will be just as good if not better

See these all the time in Travelodges. I'd be interested in how efficient they are too. The price has dropped quite a bit. You probably need quite an uncluttered house to make the most of them.

we've got 2, one upstairs one downstairs, and they're really really good

ours are a different brand but they'll all be the same, set a cleaning schedule and forget about it... get a notification on your phone if the hoover bag is empty or it's run out of water/dirty water tank is full

my gf does hoover a bit too, a normal hoover gets down deep into the carpet a bit better, pulls out dog hair etc..... but you only know the difference because there's stuff in the hoover, you can't see the difference looking (as least I can't anyway)


if you have the options for it look for how hard it empties itself... it's a bit noisier but we set ours to max - otherwise it would clog up with dog hair

I have no idea if it's special stuff but we could only really find the soap you put in the water on amazon, I'd have just stuck some washing up liquid in it but gf wanted the right stuff... only takes a tiny squirt

order some cheep hoover bags for it on amazon/ebay ready too :-)

Ordered a carburettor rebuild kit for my Grasshopper hedge cutter, Got a massive chore to do at Mother in laws place, we are putting it on the market shortly & hadnt realised how overgrown her land had got in the 5 years since Fil died, Its just over one acre. It was costing a fortune to keep on top of. Now i see why, Its that bad i half expected to find a japanese soldier hiding in there.
5 years of brambles & overgrown paths, Took me two days to hack my way round the boundary with a razor sharp 3ft parang, definately the tool for the job! Needed the hedge cutter today, ran on choke but wont stay running so presume blocked main jet. Much wailing, cursing & gnashing of teeth ensued so i had a big bonfire instead. Rebuild kit ordered in case i cant fix it tomorrow.

I have an husky blower waiting its owner to buy parts since two months already.
I know him he's a very busy guy....
Anyways since I'm rearranging my homeshop I have no space left for it to stay on my bench disassembled...
So I've just ordered missing parts and other bits via Amazon
They should take a couple days to arrive

So I've ordered 10 rubber grommets for the fuel line in the tank, they said completed with hoses
But I've additionally ordered fuel hoses in various sizes, each one 1.5 meters long
Then I've got 6 primer bulbs.
I've had to add things to the cart to get free shipping so I've got two Li-po guard/ safe bags to store and recharge/ discharge my airsoft batteries.
Despite the quality of both batteries and charger, it's always better to add a layer of safety especially when it's not expensive at all

We have one for our downstairs at home.

Compared to a normal hoover they’re not great. However that’s to be expected. What they do allow you to do though is hoover constantly. Ours runs every single day with a schedule that means the mains parts of the house are done everyday and the lesser used bits every other day or so.

If you run them all the time then the house is always clean.

In the past I’ve seen people say they’re rubbish but then you come to find out they have it run round the house once a week or less expecting it to be as powerful and thorough as a manual one.

Ours has a mopping function too but we’ve never used it to be honest.


I would say it’s important to keep on top of filter changes on them. The roomba we have needs the inbuilt hoover changed fairly often and when you take it out you can see why! Minging! Parts are easy to source on Amazon though and non lemon ones are not expensive.
