I replaced the switch on a similar drill with a rocker switch, probably from a Henry vacuum cleaner. Yes there's a risk of it starting if you forget to switch it off after a power cut but that's one I'm willing to take.

The correct switch is a no voltage switch meaning there is no voltage on either of the terminal to the drill when it is off .
Your switch could see the drill motor still live if the wall socket wiring is not correct .

It was a double pole switch if that makes a difference.

I'll likely do similar, I don't want another thing that trips out or any such nonsense !
We had an old Fobco Star at a place I worked that someone had put a nice chunky rotary switch on that worked very nicely, obv not elf an safety compliant but then again I don't need to be

I have a toggle switch fitted on my Pollard. Same as @cheb, if I'm stupid enough to not toggle it off during a powercut or such, serves me right.
