I like mates like that. A pal who cut & bent rebar let me go skip diving in his yard providing I put cones all round the skip and hazard tape , I wore gloves , safety boots , eye protection & my safety helmet then I entered the skip .
You got it , some git chucked three one foot long inch off cuts of rebar into it . Defo a brown trouser moment , happily they missed me & he stopped throwing any more when he heard me screaming " Stop " .
A year ago I had a cheap Temu pneumatic pop riveter managed to pop in about 60 rivets in one session . Air feed from compressor air and water filter unit so the riveter should be still working at the next use time. popped several drops of fine compressor oil in the think before and at the end of use.
Did it work tonight did it **&*^%$
So tonight I've just ordered a £94.99 ScrewFix pneumatic pop riveter as &I have 204 more rivets to do .
Picking it up tomorrow with luck

Told by ScrewFix staff this evening , usually if you order begore 19.55 hrs. the order will be picked that night and sent out on the next milk run delivery.
A few minutes after 20.00 hrs the computer has a cut off time so it enters the next 24 hr cycle & will normally take two days in a lot of cases unless of course it is an off the shelf item held locally .

I had my first Ferrex battery fail the other day, of the eight I have the oldest would be about five years old. I didnt think that was bad going.
He phoned me a while ago asking me if I wanted some offcuts, he dumped this lot on my truck. They couldn’t possibly store all the offcuts with the amount of cut to length steel they sell.

I'll jinx it now but by comparison my oldest Milwaukee battery was bought summer of 2016 and still going strong (so that's 9 years). One of them has been dropped into the horse's water trough (attached to the impact driver) and another ones attached to the jigsaw when it was launched vertically 6ft in the air by a loose floor board and then hit a 3" thick slate floor 12ft below where it started off (grand total about 18ft of vertical drop).
The impact misbehaved after drying out for a while (stuck on full power) then fixed itself, the jigsaw broke the blade but was fine. One battery, I don't know which (perhaps the jigsaw one) the button to check charge level doesn't work but all the LEDs do.
4x 5Ah batteries, 1x 12Ah in M18 and then 2x 2Ah and 1x 6Ah in M12 and none of them seem to be down on power at all.

I was only thinking last weekend how well my Hitachi batteries were doing. Bought when I moved here in 2014 in a drill/driver set. Still giving good life and performance, both batteries and tools.
Less impressed with the expensive Hitachi hedge trimmer I bought to use with the same batteries - don't know what it's supposed to cut, but it's not hedges! Simply folds whatever you try to use it on. No amount of reworking has made it better. It's leaning on the wall in the garage while I consider simply cutting it up to get the battery holder bits to fit into a Black and Decker cordless extended hedge trimmer I inherited from my mum - it's much older, but just cuts.

Left on a site, in the Fire Alarm battery room.

The magnusson organisers are good, I've got about a dozen and I really rate them.

Not today, but acquired a 200T 4M bed Edwards Pearson pressbrake. Fully CNC, hydraulic tool clamping. Bought a load of new tooling with it. One of the last ones before they sold out to the Chinese.
