I literally felt your pain. Got it real bad when doing half marathons, tried all sorts but best was a towel or strap around the ball of your foot stretching it upwards whilst laid on your back along with foam rollers on the calf with the torture device below on my foot.
Further to me reporting I’d acquired a mini grinder,for the sake of an eccentrically machined nut,they sent me a complete replacement grinder! This one’s concentric,it’s ok,but I’m sure will need careful use and regular cool downs. At 280w it’s powerful for its size.
I put together today the Vevor 3-tonne air jack that arrived yesterday. Went through every bolt & made sure all were tight (they weren't) & popped the top off to ensure the telescopic steel centre was well greased.

I fancy one of those.... but idont think they've been in-store here in Wales recently. Hopefully they will do.
(My folks place has a very big Ash that the council have said has to be felled. I'd not consider dropping it myself - I've approached someone to do that... but the house has a woodburner, so it strikes me that its better to get it felled, then cut it up and dry-store it for splitting at a later date - cheaper plus we'd get a lot of hardwood firewood!).
One of these seems like it'd be a pretty good thing for that job and just to have around for the odd job at that sort of money.

Gantry, had to dismantle it on site to get it on the trailer.
Once home, had to unload it on me own. I haven't lost all strength yet, it just hurts after using it

Came with 2 x 500kilo chain blocks, fixed to the beam at the leg attachments. Acquired, separately, a 3.5 ton chain block (it's needing some cleaning). But it'll end up on a beam roller too.
Just getting the spec on the beam, I can ask my Civil Engineer what it's able to carry. I'm sure I'll be in spec and can't think I'd need any more. Until I buy a lathe!

The spiky ball of pain seems to help me when I had it.
I also found a video online somewhere that tells you to spread the sole of your foot with the fingers of both hands from the centre outwards, one hand on the left one on the right side, that definitely helps.
Calf stretching is also a good thing, bend over and touch your toes.
Don't wear work boots with steel midsoles as it doesn't let your foot flex properly, this is what bugered me up, the company supplied boots where like clogs!
My boots now are the ones that have no midsoles (not allowed on construction sites technically but F them, it's not their feet)
Careful that robot boot doesn't stretch your Achilles tendon too much.
I know this is really painful this so I hope you get ride of it asap.

Technically earlier in the week but only u unpacked today, a spot welder that looks OK but not tested yet, the ends are steel, is that normal?
More random landrover 90 plastic trim bits that appeared at the right (low) price. That slotted grill trim that fits round the steering column was difficult to find as it seems theyre rather brittle now and break easily so all the people that want perfect pristine restored landrovers are also looking for them. I said "dont care about the condition, just take my money" and reserved them sight unseen, but when son collected them on his way back from uni for me, they were perfect.

I’ve only ever seen copper tips but I wonder if yours has been modified to weld aluminium? It is possible to spot weld aluminium by placing sheet steel between the tips and the aluminium.
