Another pole pruner stick. Returned the first as the cable came off (slightly different design) and the last because the blades were twisting. Great tool when it works.

I didn't get to use the plugs saw as intended due to the weather over the weekend. I did manage to have a play with it primarily doing the first cuts on the guide rails to trim the splinter guards but also a few more cuts to make a perfectly usable 18mm plywood board into much less useful strips with different batteries on.
Did the splinter guard trim with the Forge 8ah battery but went slowly before doing a couple of progressively faster cuts including a few angled just for curiosity. I then tried a 5ah battery on it and even though I wasn't really pushing it hard the saw felt like it was going to stall out but never did, might be the reason the kits come with 5.5ah High Outputs. Tried the 9ah and it was cutting as fast as the Forge 8ah had and wondered if I'd made a mistake in buying the Forge over a High Output battery. Went back to the Forge battery again, pushed it harder and found it would cut as fast as I could move along the board without any hint of stalling out so tried the 9ah to find it was cutting at it's pace and not mine, noticably slower but not slow if you catch my meaning. After wasting nearly half a board reducing it in both length and width into very useless but even strips of around a cm I was happy with the new tool.
I tried the 8ah Forge against the 9ah battery with the big High Power torque gun with a couple of suspension bolts in the vice first torquing up with the 9 and removing it with the 8 which it did with ease then doing it the opposite way around with 8 to tighten and 9 to remove and there was more resistance to break free but still fairly easy. After the saw and the torque gun the Forge still showed fully charged and the 9ah was down a bar.
BTW the 8ah Forge and 9ah battery feel the same in size and weight but the Forge definitely has more oomph to it. Not a scientific test but difference in performance is clear.
As a result of the testing/playing I realise how much I need a dust extractor as the sawdust that comes out the plunge saw very efficiently through the port with little escaping the blade enclosure made a big mess as it was blasted over the path and lawn where most of it stuck when it rained whilst I was in the garage playing with the torque gun. I do have a Milwaukee wet and dry vac but when attached to tools find the hose restrictive. A good mobile dust extractor will be next but not cordless. Festool bluetooth ones have got my interest and can't see anything that compares.

Festool stuff is hard to beat I think.
I could probably make more money with one of those!
Just acquired some information, Some years ago i bought an old Universal sidevalve 6 cyl petrol engine for my vintage motor launch.
Guy i got it off said he had a manual but lost it.
Spent hours fruitlessly searching the interweb for info & manual for it posting on several forums.
Then this morning out of the blue i got an email from a gentleman in Germany who has a very similar engine in his boat and a manual. Turns out my slightly different lump is covered by the manual as well. He has already emailed me the tech specs sheet & settings which is gold dust!

I purchased an early moggy minor that only came with a log book the car was in good condition and not restored, A few years later a friends wife gave me a box of old car manuals and in same box were old MOTs and tax discs for my car, She got them at a car boot sale.
Some years ago I bought a Futaba two stick radio control transmitter, modified to the new 2.4GHz operation (I could get on with the toy-like feeling ones I had bought compared to my old 27MHz JR set from the mid to late 80's). Computerised, memory storage for different models, lots n lots of adjustments and no idea how to set any of it up. I messaged the seller if he still had the manual - nope, he'd never had one either. Rummaged around the net, could only find foreign language versions. Emailed Futaba in Japan . . .
In the meantime, for some reason, I removed the foam liner in the branded protective case it had come in . . . and there was the manual, where an owner previous to the guy I bought it from had left it
Which does remind me, Futaba in Japan never replied . . .
