A Weg cold plate VFD off the bay. I wanted a 0.75hp version for the Meddings drill I'm doing up, but was on backorder for about 12 weeks. So took a chance on a second hand one from the bay at a third of the price. It turns out to be 3hp model, result

I'll test it tomorrow, I got a big bit of 6mm aluminium plate for it to sit on, the heatsink is on its way.

In my experience you don't need a heatsink just fix it to something and let rip.

I am probably going belt and braces, the metal clad walls of the barn aren't flat so like to upgrade it a bit to make sure. I guess the thermal paste is way over the top then

I had that exact same drive doing full speed reverses on a 3hp motor and it didn't show any distress.

The first time I used one of these WEG fanless VFDs was when I placed it inside the cabinet of my wood turning lathe, I didn't want a fan dragging wood dust into it. There's not a lot of ventilation in there, I did lift the lathe off the floor a little which helped but still not ideal. So I added an aluminium plate and a heatsink and bolted it to the inside of the lathe, just in case. Since then I've done the same elsewhere in the workshop, sounds like I shouldn't have bothered, The plate and heatsink add about 20 quid to not a big deal though.

They're good drives, I hate rattling fans when I'm listening to music in the workshop

A Clansman spring base for the manpack 320 and a vehicle base for the same system.
Helpfully, the folding whip from the manpack fits the vehicle base, too. I wasn't too sure about that.

Possibly, I don't have one. It has a single flat ground on one side.

Some aviation spanners. I'm not taking up aeroplanes but for tight suspension bolts etc these will be handy on occasion. Fully polished they are nicely balanced.

Could be a spot face cutter, for making a round flat feature around a bolt holt in a casting.

I think its for facing Cartridges. It fits in a small hand lathe. They "grow" when fired, so need to be trimmed down for reloading.

It’s similar to mine, mine has four cutters though. Northwest made me a trimmer and it has four cutters too. It’s blooming good
