Today I acquired

a cheapie resto kit of fleabay and

a set of upper and lower TCA for the range rover , the bushes have gone on the upper arms to the point the N/S is knocking and the only reason the lowers need doing is the boots have badly perished on the ball joints probably recycled rubbish instead of proper rubber . I went for delphi ( Chinese made according to the boxes so weather they'll be better than anything else who knows ) priced LR's knocking on the door of £750 for the four ............

I bought one of those when out in Oz (seemed like a good idea at the time), wore it for the rest of my trip but never once back in the UK.

Ended up giving it to my Brother who made the mistake of admiring it.

A very expensive (but oozing with quality) 200 mm (8") wheel 1400-ish rpm bench grinder with an 80 grit CBN wheel for reshaping (e.g. chisel) blades without them getting as hot as they would with one of my 3 normal (3000+ rpm) bench grinders but hopefully a lot quicker than with my (400ish rpm) slow-speed grinder. Good solid cast tool rests and thumbwheels for minor adjustments, which is nice. Surprisingly (to me anyway) there are no dust ports on the back.

I've probably got too many bench grinders, but this one's a lovely addition to the set

I've also absolutely no idea where I'm going to put it, but that's something to worry about another day

Has to do with Kangaroo and other animal products banned by Customs.

It's not as if aRoos are being left alone, the AU are shooting them along with ferral cats dogs rabbits, I understand the reasons non native etc but waste of resources and something giving it's life

Most exciting is the slide duplicator, it goes on the front of the autobellows and holds a piece of film flat, still and evenly illuminated, it even has a length of bellow to clamp onto the front of the lens to cut out stray reflections. Here it is all set up:





And now I can finally make film scans that I'm happy with, using the full 4000 x 6000 pixel resolution of the digital camera.



That is a Jpeg, I still don't have the software (Or the skills) to edit .RAW files, so there's improvements to be made, but at least I can take a rest from eBay for a while now, I think I'm all done buying equipment.

Sometimes, I need to turn a conical pipe thread into a cylindrical one. Overcome laziness and ordered. I use taps for pipe threads more often. Now there is a complete set for popular sizes.

Just taken delivery of a small box.
Only one item, this is the item as I removed it.

It is to small for a measuring device. Plus it has very little weight.

It took a bit of gentle force to open it.

Looks like a very nice setup. I'd like to do something similar. I've got literally thousands of slides and larger transparencies, among which there should actually be a few that are worth digitizing.

No it's a church.

Here's another picture from the same city, I imagine someone here will recognise it straight away.



30 second exposure with the camera propped up on a rock (Hence the ground in the foreground). I know I just said I'm done buying equipment, but this reminds me I want a little 6" tripod I can take anywhere for things like this.
It's cropped btw, I don't have an X-Pan.

This is how they cam out of the undamaged box, care of Fed Exe.
Please bare in mind I have to try and un seize one box.

Ebay, seems no problem, it is just that you need a car specific adapter an a short piece of hose with a specific quickconnector both ends making it costly for a tool I migth never use
