Draper started off as a British wholesaler of tools (early 1900s) and gradually imported more and more under their own label.
They have never (to my knowledge) manufactured anything. However, depending on their age, the blocks could actually be Japanese - Japan and Taiwan being the China and India of offshoring in their day.

Either way, they look nicely made.

Today, well, OK, last week, was a very good day.

Full 4,5Kw solar array aquired. Free.

No idea quite what or where im going to use it just yet, but, depending on the house and workshop situation, a home will be found.

If you believe all the nonsense it will be halfway knackered if it’s 10 yrs old. It isn’t of course. Mine is maybe 5% down in 12 yrs, maybe less than that, they need a clean.

I dont believe the nonsense. Even it was at 50% efficiency, who cars. Its still free.

No, i dont believe the nonsense. If if they were 50% down, so what, its free and therefore still more cost effective than new.

That said, it was never connected. Just sat on a roof for a few years.

I’d rather have 50% of something for free than pay to have 100% of something which will take time to recoup the outlay and degrade to the 50% anyway.

I had this conversation the other day. Bloke won’t earn over his tax allowance so he doesn’t have to pay any. I’d rather have 75% of the extra than all of nothing. He couldn’t understand that.

Stopped by the Shed at the recycling centre today. Saw a plastic bucket of about the right size for a waste bin in our van sitting up on a shelf. It felt heavy when lifting it down, and to my surprise it was half full of one inch ( 25mm) long wood screws. And to make my Wife smile, there were a couple of pair of designer shoes in her size, brand new in the boxes with the tags still on. All of it for a fiver (£) as you say over here.

Upon closer inspection when we got home, I noticed a symbol stamped into the heads of the screws. Anyone know about the brand or manufacturer ?
