Thats great I have a few my self its funny because I have a lot but you have some I dont. I collect White house hammers, I was lucky as I managed to buy a big job lot that came out of a school, some one on here bought all the duplicates.

Ooh, there's a couple of spikes that I didn't know about! I thought I'd read all of them years ago!

I loved his "Corridors of Power" I thik it was from the Musollini book but I can't be sure:


General: Leaps tall buildings with a single bound. More powerful than a steam engine, faster than a speeding bullet. Gives policy to GOD.

Captain: Makes high marks when trying to leap tall buildings. Is run over by trains. Can sometimes handle a gun without inflicting self injury. Dog paddles, talks to animals.

Lieutenant: Runs into tall buildings. Recognises trains two out of three times. Is not issued with ammunition. Can stay afloat if properly instructed in the use of a lifejacket. Talks to walls.

2nd Lieutenant: Falls over doorsteps while trying to enter buildings. Says, "Look at Choo Choo." Is NEVER issued with a gun or ammunition. Plays in mud puddles. Mumbles to himself.

Sgt. Major: Lifts tall buildings and walks under them. Kicks steam trains off the tracks. Catches speeding bullets in his teeth and eats them. Freezes water with a single glance . . . HE IS GOD!

I'd even go the small expense of putting a small stainless steel turn buckle on each loop and tensioning it so the cabinet is solid against the wall or a baton screwed to it . so ther is no move ment at all .

Not one, but two wins with the easy outs. British BSF bolt grabbed easily, chinese m8 deformed and I was worried I was going to fail, but eventually it came.

It is. Found him the bumper workshop technical manual for his Singer Hunter, too. Nice old cars, don’t get enough attention for what they are.

My lodger Mike out of Christchurch shipped his working , self repaired ( faulty alternator diodes ) XJS back to NZ in a half container , Container paid for by his NZ company & stuffed with as many used Jag spare parts as he could lay hands on at the time . Including two complete sets of quality used leather seats & trims when he returned to NZ back in 1996 after doing 18 months or so radio design & development over here with Tait mobile radio. He reckoned it was going to be worth a lot of money as you don't make cars or didn't make the in NZ. He reckoned Jaguar cars and spares are like hen's teeth in NZ better than gold mining . .

Lots of cars made here in NZ we had multiple car factories, assembly plants etc. GM had a huge plant and built Bren carriers in the war. Really not sure why he would say that??

Jag parts are quite plentiful too, people in the UK are actually buying them back from us, the market for them is huge in the UK compared to NZ. It did used to be that you could pick up a cheap Bentley, RR, high end Merc in the 90s and ship it here to make 2x your money, but those days are over, weirdly it seems to be the other way around now

Yeah Narex, made in Czechoslovakia. It feels really nice. Makes the 40 taper look tiny!
It takes 25mm bars, so I've got a long and a short one coming and I'll make some sleeves to suit my smaller bars.

It's got the tattiest looking suitcase you ever did see, and it's got no storage insert or OEM markings on it, so I'm verging on buying a nice peli case to store it all in.

It is probably known that the small Myfords are susceptible to end play and backlash in the supports.

Either I could reduce the backlash to a low level so far, but then had enormously stiff controls
or the machine could be operated pleasantly smoothly and effortlessly, but then the backlashes were too large.

Now I have had very good experiences with the use of thrust bearings on my Multifix Aa QCTP ...

.... why not give thrust bearings in this application a try.


It seems that the metrified ML7 (serial number has the suffix "M") delivered via official importers to MetricLand got the feedscrew and indexable micrometer scales of the Super7 from the beginning - at least I can say that for Germany and Holland quite probably.

That means that you have to find thrust bearings with an inner diameter that fit on a 1/2" shaft for this purpose.

That sounds simple, but the fact is that I have not found such bearings in all of Europe at a price that seemed acceptable to me -

so I had to orient myself to the Land of Smiles .... there I found them, expectably cheap, of not exactly predictable quality and associated with agonizing waiting time.

Today three and a half weeks had passed and the bearings were in my mailbox:

Now I hope to have enough space to plant two of these bearings on each of the two feedscrews, where they go through the respective front panel of their support ....

Let's see what comes out of this ....
