Today I acquired the makings of a cooler from @Maker

but guess what



it wont fit on the cart I've spent quite a few hours butch em fabricating . I never gave a cooler a thought while doing it I've cut the width down massively to save space and made just a little wider than the transtig , Could end up another roundtuit project
it's a wierd sort of case as well top base and sides are all one piece and access is the two removable end panels .

Plessent day, not weather wise.
Fly down to Lands Ends toi see a customer, then back home via a nice litle shop. Or 2.

Some the kind lady had set aside for me.

This Dog Camera was set aside, as there is No USB lead to fit. At this point of time I do not have a suitable one to fit.

Two "Quirky" items. Both Lighters. The LHS has a compass and a thermometer. Both are now working.

An odd old tin, that rattled.
Took a bit of work to open it up, this is one of two items that were seized shut.

A nice selection of Old style fuses. All are in working condition. There are details on them, I will be looking at them soon.

This is why the box was left aside for me, a drill round and a magnifier.

Dam things are breeding.

Today I acquired a bashed hotplate from Zoro. Seems to be working fine so I am not going to bother trying to get a replacement as it is just for boiling water for sealing anodised parts.

Also got two bins from RS which thankfully are big enough to anodise and dye the rack as seen in the pic.

I have been so impressed with the Wera Hex Plus keys I got for working on the bike I decided to get another set for the workshop.

The price this was being asked for meant it was not going to stay in the shop.

This was the second item that was stuck shut.
I new by the boss on the lid what it could be. I also know it is a "Bitsa".

Bits of this and bits of that.

There is a lot to do, but it will be fun.

A lot of poking with feeler guages and a thin lock pick tool I got it open.

Only one item does not belong.

Nice set of scales. The weights are German, plus the part weights are also matched.

This was a steel.

I have seen these in the past, but out of the price I wanted to pay.

There lots of hideen damaged and bent parts.

Strangely enough, after being interested only in very large vises, I have recently taken to the smaller editions of them
or just very special small vise.

I vigorously deny that this could in any way have anything to do with shrinking space reserves ....

Here's one I'd only seen in this form before as very large specimens,
roughly with 150-200mm jaws and 30-45+kg (the scribing tool in the pictures has a 200mm scale):

Everything seems to be intact and all painted surfaces are fine .... this intensity of rust of the unpainted and not to be oiled surfaces on the other hand, I actually only know from my time at the North Sea and even there it took years of exposure outside before it became so ....

And I haven't seen one like this cute little one in Germany at all.

With a clamping base in which the actual vise can rotate, which has a circumferential V-groove around there where two pointed grub screws engage from the outside.

Every moving part feels sticky tough, a kind of soft resistance, but everything seems to be intact and complete, and quite old at that.

It was well packed.

A nice vintage chimley.

The glass is less than 2mm thick.

A couple of Cornellius kegs, a bit dusty from being in his barn but they'll scrub up.

And a few boxes of glasses, here's a sample.

I especially like these, they are nucleated, i.e. they have rough bits at the bottom that promotes bubble formation that helps head retention and they just feel good in the hand. Perfect for the brewery tap

None of that gassy europiss for me !

Up t"north, apart from the poor souls that think Bud, Coors and Carling is actually beer, we like our ale not quite flat and with a head.

To do this you force the lightly but naturally carbonated ale through a sparkler to liven it up to give a nice refreshing pint with a tight head.
