exactly what I thought , although iv'e never seen an SSC in the flesh it's canny wide. not quite the price of an SSC though and well less than half the esab price
I really need to butcher up a trolley and get this transtig fired up.

A mid life crisis?
The fact it arrived on my birthday is just a coincidence
Few mods to suit my needs, neighbour said the mudguards ruined it, I told him the great thing about it being my bike is that I can do what I want to it.
Plan to get fit once my hernia op is done, I will keep riding my home built bike when i'm out with the family but I won't be able to do any serious miles on that

I like fenders too. A chain guard an kick stand are nice also, and I recall that all bikes in my youth came with them as standard equipment.

Kick stand is being investigated as I hate leaning it against walls, like in the pics
Chain guard is probably a no go, due to the 1x setup and the the 11 to 51 cassette, no, that isn't a typo. The rear cassette is huge

They are as wide as I can fit on, 45mm and the tyres are 37mm
The frame is recessed for the tyre, can go upto a huge tyre with 650b wheels and the chain stays are very short, hence the cutout

Some lightweight frames don’t advise fitting a stand, my brother has a Thorn & it will invalidate the frame guarantee

Yes the current plan is very much like the Korloy bars. Grind the carbide at 45 degrees V and braze on. Not sure if I will make the head or chop an existing bar. I have a few spare sclcr's but Id prefer to use dcet insertsSounds interesting
I could grind a cutting edge directly, but I think that will be far more brittle and less good than properly formed, coated inserts.

Check out " Bicycle Crankset Chainguard " on ebay. Just an outer ring which fits on the crank sprocket to keep your clothing clean and from catching in the teeth.
