I do at least 2 visors a year mind you I ride in all weathers and heavy traffic.

I had a snooze in the car while my Wife did some shopping today, and on the way back she stopped by our local salvage shop where I acquired four Bullfinch torches, five clamps, a couple of the good "old" Stanley knives, a level and some anchor bolts.

I found this on the scrap pile today. I initially grabbed it so I could put the larger castors on my welding trolley to make it cope better with the rough concrete floor of the shed, but in the end I am in the process of junking my old trolley (which was made out of two old speaker stands welded together) and using this instead. My bottle is a bit too small for it, so I need to fix it in place. And I'm building a shelf half-way up the other side, so I can put my welding helmet and gloves in it. Oh, and perhaps I'll find a bit of worktop to go on the top, just so I can pile stuff on it and make it (a) top heavy and (b) a bit too heavy to move around the shed.

thursday I acquired


a pair of record marples speed clamps , or is that cramps ? they'd been up a while on market place for £70 and I made an offer of £50 and got them . Not bad really considering the price new
they'll clamp up just over a metre and 120mm deep.
there's a name for that type of handle on the screw which escapes me anyone know what it is ?

Surfox 202 in good condition with lots of consumables.
Worth to give it a try to not playing around with HF which I really hate.

That's a nice bit of kit, does it pump fluid and suck it back?

It pumps the fluid from a internal reservoir to the tip and got a fume extractor.
No returning of the fluid because of containment.
That’s what the manual said.
Will testing today to see the results.

Not today, but Thursday I moved my new milling machine into the workshop, got it wired up yesterday (amazingly I got the 3 phases right first time, should have got a lottery ticket!) not used it in anger yet though.

Its a Semco model LC-1 1/2 VS, variable speed bridgeport copy basically, R8 spindle, it's got a riser block, which is nice but does mean it does not fit under my mezzanine where I'd wanted it to go so it's in the front corner of the workshop atm.

I once visited a supplier machining a 15ton fabrication for us - they were in an old mill. Further down the shop under a lower ceiling was a taller machine . . . the motor poked up into a hole in the ceiling. On the guided tour of the place, in the middle of the office floor upstairs was a large up-turned bucket . . .

Office staff knew when that machine was working hard . . .

Had a walk round a local bootsale today, Brought a few bits home!

I bought eight clamps with around an 8" opening for a quid each!

Also dropped on this hefty Samurai book for a couple of quid, Just looked on Amazon, Cheapest is £231

Also picked up a couple of other bits, A small telescope, Parker pen refills and a watch that is as dead as a dodo!!

A sore knee, twisted it when turning. Yesterday actually, not too bad this morning but the 'preservative on the man-cave' must get done. Looks like it's going to need another coat to be right. Slow & steady though.....

Also, the grass desperately needs cutting - think I'll leave that until early evening, it's bound to be dry by then after the heavy dew.
