A 1960's Pifco Car lamp.

Bloody things. I recall my Dad's one [round red top, so earlier? ] and being told to come help him in the single car garage located away from the house, so not much room and no electricity.

I was instructed to hold the lamp in a certain position pointing under the wing while he repaired/replaced whatever component needed fixing. You try holding a heavy lamp pointing to an exact spot for ages when your head is outside the 'target' area and you're pointing blind.
Not easy for a kid and tempers are getting frayed due to constant 'tutting' and repositioning..... You just knew you weren't going to enjoy tomorrow....

The manual is available as a free download in several places, I have the PDF somewhere. Don't use the manual as a guide to what threads the bolts & fixings should be. They just seemed to use what was in stock at the time! On mine I have nearly every thread form ever invented!

A new base for the turntable of my Axminster saw,1 month out of warranty and it’s cracked,stopping it from being locked against rotation,see the closeness of the clamping threaded hole,I’m going to strap around that,ironically it didn’t crack there,it’s 37 months old,and as well as this,it’s also broken 2 blade drive wheels,
I’m pleased with its operations however and Axminster service is good,the saw is in use everyday by 3 operators.

You might be right: I've no idea; it doesn't look like most pictures I've seen of Stanleys or Records, although...

Also known as a compass plane I think ,Stanley used to do two versions a concave and also a convex
had a dark blue concave one years ago god knows where it went.

Stanley No. 113 Circular Plane

To my untrained eyes, it looks to be a 4a or later as the scale is graduated, and possibly is an 8a (decorative knob).
